“This place is up there with Michelin star restaurants in my opinion. Very very impressed .
I got the Carpaccio - the rabbit - and then the duck. All of which were prepped very very nicely . Carpaccio is some of the best I’ve had. Great high quality ingredients , along with incredible flavor profiles, and very nice ambiance.
Will be coming back.

“The litteral only downside is that it's so popular it's a little cramped walking through the front door. And when the worst thing about your restaurant is it's too good that says a lot. The food is delicious and reasonably priced the torta del sol bring a notable stand out. The staff is friendly attentive and personable, and the bread is out of this world. I highly recommend this place“

“I can not believe that this restaurant has been here on Main Street in Port Jefferson Village for over 20 years and I never ate there!!! This is my new Favorite place to eat. The food was exceptional and good size portions. The pita bread they put out on the table was so delicious I could have made that my meal. The service was extremely attentive and so personable. The Owner came around greeting everyone and made us feel like we were all family having dinner together. I am looking forward to my next visit.“

“We've been coming to Orto since it opened, and have brought family and friends several times. My husband proposed to me while we dined there four years ago and we recently went back to celebrate our anniversary. Every meal has been wonderful.“

“I don't know how I missed this hidden gem in St.James, but I was fortunate to have dinner there last night. A small, but intimate restaurant, almost missed it traveling from south to north on Moriches Rd. Not your typical menu that you would find in your average Modern Italian restaurant. Delicious, authentic italian regional dishes, like mama made. Interesting appetizers to wondetful pasta dishes, and the braised beef over polenta was incredible. You can bring your own wine, and the wait staff was very attentive, great place, looking forward to returning!“

“One of our favorite spots to grab casual dinner with the family. Service is good and price is pretty good too. The chicken parmigiana dinner comes with choice of soup or salad or pasta. Pasta Fagoli is some of the best around reminds me of my Nana’s. Go check it out they don’t take reservations but even on busy nights the wait is no longer than 15-20 mins.“

“Happened upon this restaurant while visiting Port Jefferson. And glad we did. Got here early enough that we could get a table right away. Steve took great care of us without being overbearing. We started off with the stuffed mushrooms, which were so freaking good. For main course my husband got the Chicken & Sausage Scarpiello, and I had the Veal Scallopini - both were delicious. We finished off sharing the Rainbow Cookie Cheesecake. This exceeded my expectations. Everything was so good that my husband wants to go back tomorrow!“

“Really nice place with a rustic, romantic vibe. The food and service was excellent. Served hot and nicely portioned. Cesar salad was your with anchovies and dressed just right. Artichoke and spinach flatbread appetizer was excellent also.
My girlfriend got the Tuscan chicken over spaghetti and was a really nice portion. It needed a little salt but otherwise was perfect. I got the orrechetti with sausage and broccoli rabe and was very good. Sausage could have been cooked a little less and there could have been more broccoli rabe, but was still enjoyable. One other thing, they asked if I wanted cheese sprinkled on top, which I loved, but they used the wrong cheese. Instead of sprinkling grated Romano, they spooned on shredded parmesan. Not really appropriate for that dish.

“My wife and I had a delightful dinner here during a Thursday evening late last month. When we arrived, we were glad that we had made a reservation, because most tables were occupied already. Live music was provided by a cover band playing popular tunes from a variety of eras: it was well-received by the patrons, some of whom even danced! Several members of the staff alternated serving us; all were pleasant and helpful. Our food - pasta primavera and wonderful, warm bread - was delicious, as were our wine and beer. The chicken special I had was really excellent, and my girlfriend enjoyed her pasta. I honestly didn’t think the food would be as great as it was considering half of the place is a pizzeria. “They catered our party and the food was fabulous. Their meatballs are soft and the best we’ve tasted. The trays were filled to the top. The chicken parm, chicken francaise, and pasta dishes were great. Hero was great too. I was a little hesitant hiring them only because I had never used them before. I decided to use them because we had gone there for dinner a few times and loved the meatballs and other dishes (chicken bruschetta for one) and their homemade dipping sauce for their bread. I could be happy with the dipping sauce and bread alone, delicious! We will definitely use them again to cater. They delivered and were right on time.“

“Pizza and calzones are always burnt, effecting the taste. Even when you ask the staff to cook it lightly, they still burn them. Calzones have way too much mozzarella cheese, and not enough ricotta cheese. Burnt is the norm here. Staff are friendly.“

“Ordered Pickup tonight on their app because it was New Year's Eve. Must have been busy because it was scheduled for 50 minutes after order completion (7:10pm). Even though I gave them my cell number they only confirmed my order by email. At 7:00pm I got a text that my order would be ready at 7:10pm. When I got my order home, the Family-Style Lasagna Bundle (serves 4-6) was crushed on one side so bad that the cheese was stuck to half of the aluminum lid. Even though I only live 15 minutes away, the included 12 Bread Sticks were still warm in their foil lined bags and the included Jumbo House Salad was still ice cold in it's plastic container including 12oz bottle of Olive Garden Salad Dressing (interestingly the expiration date on the bottle was the next day, still good though). Had to microwave each lasagna portion before serving. But the Meatballs (5) Parmigiana appetizers where an absolute joy. I ordered the Gallon Bellini Peach-Raspberry Iced Tea which was very tasty and went well with everything.“

Try their Malbec and flourless chocolate cake which is naturally gluten-free—in fact, their brunches have almost all gluten-free options. The coffee is smooth and just wonderful. The outdoor dining experience is as if you are at a party in Europe. They already see me often for 10 years—I love food and this gets my repeat business. Try it at least!
