I had a long bus trip to New York City and was looking forward to a delicious Thai dish. My friend who has lived in Queens all his life, pointed out Vera Thai on our drive to his apartment. I went inside to order a carryout and was disappointed with the food. Not only were the portions small but the food wasn't tasty at all. I only come here when I don't feel like looking for parking in Woodside/Elmhurst, where the Thai food is much better. The food at Vera is hit or miss. The salads($10-15) are a joke and are the laziest I've ever seen... like a child, not a chef make the salads. I love the food and the only reason I don't give it a complete 5 is because I know they can make it even better. Service is good and friendly but once in a while too serious, but is because, I sometimes arrived late and who wouldn't be tired late at night. The only thing I will say is the atmosphere; I believe they need to improve in a few aspects of the decorum so you can have a nice date, then again is a great place to seat and enjoy with friends.
