“This restaurant is a gem at the Tangram food court serving authentic Thai cuisine! The place is small, but they clearly displayed their effort to create a nice dining atmosphere with decor and lighting.
I’ve been here many times and tried many items on the menu. Food was flavourful with a good amount of spices.
Here’s what I really like and ordered many times!
- Kapow over rice
- Thai fried rice with extra egg
- Pad Thai
- Drunken Noodle“

“This is literally the best Thai food spot in Queen's. From the service to the food and atmosphere. I love introducing my friends to this place. The Massaman Curry and Tom Kha soup are my go-to's. With a side of Thai iced tea! It's perfect :)“

“After several visits we've determined that most of the dishes shine, especially the Papaya and Mango salads. The flavors are bold and fresh the way you want Thai to be. A few of the dishes tho merely suffice, so sample your way across the broad menu offerings to find the favorites that will keep you coming back.“

“My daughter graduated college and this was her choice for a family dinner after such a long day! Such an amazing experience. From the second we arrived until we left service was excellent. Thai food was delicious and the cocktails were unique and highly recommended. We had a decent size party and they accommodated us comfortably and every one of us enjoyed our meals.“

“A staple for great takeout or dining in. The food is always fresh and consistent. If considering dining in, the restaurant is a bit small.
Drunken Noodle (4/5) - Perfect amount of spice & vegetables. I prefer the beef over chicken, it’s more flavorful.
Crispy Snapper Thai Chilli Basi Sauce (5/5) Fried really crispy & the sauce is so good.
Chive Pancake (4/5) - not too greasy, crispy but a softer texture inside.“

“Where can I start? The experience felt like I was at home, with my mother making dinner. The lady was so polite and sweet. It was a calm atmosphere, but not sterile and boring.
The food was served in a timely manner and was presented so nicely. Everything was fresh, and it really had this "homemade" taste to it that other restaurants just can not replicate.
It truly was a unique experience, with excellent food, and at an amazing price. It was also one of the few halal Thai restaurants out there.
I loved everything about it and will be coming here often.“

“I came on a Saturday for lunch with a friend and there was no wait. I was surprised at the quality and variety considering this is $40 Ayce. My favorite was the Tom Yom soup, steamed eggs, spicy beef and the mango sticky rice! My only complaint is that 90 minute is short between the time you take to choose your food and grill it. At the end you can get a gatcha (1 per table). We got a free mouthwash which was pretty random Overall I am definitely planning to come back and take friends here!“

“Erawan is my favorite Thai restaurant. Absolutely beautiful; like you are in Thailand. The food is amazing. My favorite is red curry tofu with brown rice. The best red curry coconut milk sauce. The salad is fresh with an orange-carrot dressing. The interior design is very chic; a combination of orange-yellow, bronze and Tiffany egg blue. Relaxed and sophisticated atmosphere.“

“Possibly the greatest omakase experience I’ve had within the US. The ambience is incredible, with a secretive feel and almost cave-like decor. The playlist is excellent with a great homemade sound system. Chef Mark is not only an incredible chef, but a great host too. We chatted about music and about life stories, while my family ate the most fresh and delectable fish ever. 11/10 great experience.“

“I got the Thai iced tea, the spice dusted calamari, the Thai basil fried rice with the crispy duck.
The Thai tea was perfectly balanced not overly sweet and a lovely addition to the meal.
The Spice Dusted Calamari had a very light breading that was seasoned well and skillfully fried. The sweet chili sauce and squeeze of fresh lime over the calamari made the dish sing!!
The Thai Basil fried rice was delightfully smoky and full of flavor. The crispy duck was the star of the meal. Duck is my favorite protein and I’ve had it often. After much thought and comparison, I am ready to call it the best duck I’ve had. It was so moist and the skin was so crispy it shattered. The flawless excision of that duck was the perfect end to my NYC trip. I can’t wait to return here for another duck meal!
Finally, The delightful waitress is a skilled multitasker. She simultaneously took of everyone in the restaurant with care and attention, handled all those coming in for takeout all while making the above mentioned drinks for each table.
Wheelchair accessibility: There’s a ramp in the front of the building“

“Easy one of the best thai spots in astoria. They specialize in chicken and rice. We got the combo so you could choose two options for the chicken. I got cutlet and roasted and it did not disappoint. We ended the meal with a mango sticky rice and loved how it wasn’t too sweet.“

“Ambiance and service were great. We ordered a Thai Pink Milk smoothie, Hoy Jor, Crispy Pork, Leng Zap, and Crab Noodle. Nice little Thai spot in Woodside/Jackson Heights serving some very authentic dishes.
Hoy Jor - Deep fried pork and crab meat in a tofu skin. Really enjoyed this since it was very tender and packed with a decent amount of crab meat. Dipping sauce was a little sweet and tangy.
Crispy Pork - Super crispy, crunchy pork belly. Dipping sauce was salty, tangy/sour. Great appetizer as well.
Leng Zap - Pork bone soup. A literal mountain of tender pork spine in a very flavorful soup. We got ours with mild spice and it still had a kick to it so be mindful of Thai spiciness! The soup is very sour and bold in flavor. They give you some plastic gloves to help with pulling apart the meat and there is definitely plenty of meat. Extremely tender and fall of the both. Some parts you have to really dig out but worth it. Feeds 2-3 people for sure.
Crab noodle - Noodles with chunks of crab meat, seasoning, peanuts, boy choy, bean sprouts, and a lime. Mix together to get a nice noodle with light crab flavoring, very nice dish as well.
Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs, located on ground level.“

“Went on a first date here. A best kept secret by my partner. I see why. The spice levels are ON POINT! I’ve never had a dish I don’t love. Especially the chef specials. The staff is warm and sweet and the food is prepared with love and in a timely fashion.“

“The Shrimp Tom Yum is very good. They give a good portion of shrimp and loads of mixed vegetables in the quart size. Other Thai restaurants I've been to give a lot fewer shrimp and maybe a few sliced mushrooms, cilantro, green and/
or yellow onion slices and not more in a quart size. The Ginger Beef is very tasty, and I'm told the Pad Thai is good. One complaint is the salmon should be grilled or lightly sauteed in Thai seasoning before being incorporated into the fried rice. Whole filet would work, however cut into smaller sections or large cubes would be easier to handle on your fork.
Take service was reasonable and the atmosphere is not bad few a small take out restaurant style restaurant with a few tables. There were approximately a company of 7-8 people eating family style when I was there last.
'I believe they had a pretty selective menu with specials that change and the prices are reasonable“

“I have been ordering from here for years and it’s always consistently good and the prices are even better. The lunch deal is phenomenal, I would order it often when I worked in the area. Dining in is great as well. It’s very much a hole in the wall place but they keep it clean and modern (and very cold, you may need a sweater).
It’s nothing fancy, delivery people are in and out and there’s only ever one server handling everything. But the food is on point. The thai teas are some of the best I’ve ever had. The duck curry is great and even the average dishes like the pad thai and green curry are well done.
This isn’t a place that will win any Michelin stars or be lauded in the next issue of Food & Wine, but when you’re craving some simple thai, Tasty Thai is the place to go.“

“Very good place with off the beaten path dishes. Not sure I will go out of my way to dine here again simply due to the portion sizes, but if I’m in the neighborhood looking for a place to eat, I would definitely put it on my list. I ordered the beef Khao Soi and as you can see from the photo, it’s mostly broth.“

“We have been to Thai Rock numerous times with friends or by ourselves. In the evening the bar scene is sometimes more important than having a good meal, although we managed to eat well enough with the noise. During the pandemic we had limited choices of simplified dishes. But now, going for a tranquil lunch on the large deck overlooking Jamaica Bay and the Cross Bay Bridge, with sun or shade depending on your preference, we had top quality Thai. Our green papaya salad (we had it hot, but medium and mild were options) had a nice mixture with green beans, cherry tomatoes, and peanuts. Deep fried cod with peppers in a sweetish sauce was excellent. The star was marinated beef (chicken, shrimp, pork were other options) with string beans, ginger, and chopped nuts. Sharing all this made a balanced meal. Others had fancy looking cocktails. The service was friendly and attentive. We plan to go back soon.“
