“My daughter graduated college and this was her choice for a family dinner after such a long day! Such an amazing experience. From the second we arrived until we left service was excellent. Thai food was delicious and the cocktails were unique and highly recommended. We had a decent size party and they accommodated us comfortably and every one of us enjoyed our meals.“

“The space is configured like a film set: you are in some backwater honkytonk in a remote outpost in Thailand in the 70’s. Psychedelic Thai music along with some disco blares loudly beneath the flickering lights, corrugated metal awnings, advertisements for beer, Fanta, god-knows-what hair care products — it actually looks like a sort of Thai bodega. Leaning forward from your antique movie theatre seat and peering into the downstairs you see large glass jars illuminated with red light. Some Mephistophelian herbal concoctions. On a large screen plays some grainy indifferent Bruce Lee knockoff from the 70’s. You get the picture….“

“Tried this Thai restaurant in Sunnyside and it didn’t disappoint. The thai fried rice & green curry were flavorful & met my taste expectations. The curry puff had a perfectly flaky crust, & the pumpkin custard dessert was a sweet, satisfying finish. Overall, a good choice for tasty Thai food.“

“I have gone here for the past 2 years I’ve lived in Brooklyn, very frequently. This is by far my favorite and go to spot. I am so sad to be moving out of the city solely because I won’t be able to return here. They have truly the best waiters and waitress and the food has never disappointed. They will be very missed!!“

“We went there yesterday and had such a wonderful experience! The food was absolutely amazing. Even though they were a bit short-staffed last night, the lovely aunty went above and beyond, doing her absolute best to make sure every customer was happy. We completely fell in love with the appetizers, mains, and the mango sticky rice.“

“What a great hole in the wall for authentic Thai cuisine. This place has only been open for 3 years, but I sense they will be open for years to come.
The food is incredible, the service was quick, and the a/c was running.
My friend and I shared the som tum with shrimp (with fermented fish sauce), fried chicken skins, and hainanese/fried chicken combo. Everything was incredibly packed with umami, spice, and tang, perfect for a hot summer day.
The som tum with fermented fish sauce is authentic and reminded me of my trip to Bangkok many years ago. It was refreshing, spicy, and packed with flavor from the papaya and sauces. The shrimp was tender and melted in my mouth.
The fried chicken/hainanese chicken combo was also sublime. It was tender, and really paired well with the rice. I love how there wasn’t much bone to the chicken, which made it really easy to eat. I loved it with the sweet and sour sauce, giving it more dimension.
The fried chicken skins were such a great appetizer. I wish it was served warm, but overall, it complimented the som tum we had.
Would I come back to this place? Absolutely. I highly recommend this spot for diners who want an authentic Thai street food experience, and I cannot wait to come back and try the other specialties they have to offer.“

“The best Thai food I’ve had in NYC - I’m speaking both as a NYC native foodie and as someone’s who’s had the same food made in Thailand - so trust me! Truth be told, my friend randomly chose this place on Maps, but we ended up truly loving everything we got and bookmarking this restaurant. For the appetizer we had tofu (crunchy and soft!) with peanut sauce, tom yum hot pot for the entire table, mango salad with salmon, green curry (which came in a cute little pot), and tom kha coconut milk soup with chicken for myself. Our entire meal was so filling and comforting. The drinks and desserts looked extremely good on the menu, but pricy for us. I would say that everything we ordered was worth the bill, though! They have some outdoor seating with shade, which I’m sure is very nice in mild weather, but the inside was so vibrant and cozy, full of colors and music. I am definitely coming here again!“

“Some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had in a while.
Last night I ordered from Thai Tree through Seamless and an hour passed with no update. I called to check in and got pulled into a back-and-forth — turns out they’d been slammed with a large party and hadn’t seen my order come through on their end. The woman I spoke with was trying her best, but the wires were crossed. She said she’d call me back.
About thirty minutes later, a gentleman called, apologized sincerely, and gently asked if I’d be willing to cancel. I told him I couldn’t, not through Seamless (if you’ve ever tried to get a refund from them, you know exactly what I mean). He said, okay, let me see what I can do.
It was late. He asked if I still wanted the order. I said yes — I still wanted my order. And no, I couldn’t come pick it up — I was home, sick, and at that point the Uber to go get an $80 order would’ve run me another $20. He said he’d figure it out.
They made it. They delivered it. And it was, without exaggeration, some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had in my life.
I’m a business owner. I understand what a night like that looks like from the inside, and I know how easy it is for things to fall through the cracks. What matters is how you handle it — and they handled it. Five stars across the board. As soon as my schedule clears, I fully intend to come in and sit down for a proper dinner.“

“Came here on 4th of July with only one worker present. Ordered the Mango Salad, Chive Pancake, Massaman Curry with Roti, and Pork Belly Pad See Ew. All ingredients were very good quality. The chef was very friendly and worked very hard on our order as the only people in the restaurant, would go back and recommend.“

“I'm Malaysian and let me tell you that this is home to the BEST nasi lemak in the city. The sambal is 12/10 sedap (delicious). Everything on the menu we tried was a banger. Can't wait to come back. Note that the space is a little tight, so plan accordingly. The family that runs this place are lovely.“

“This is a small neighborhood spot and I was shocked by how incredibly good it is. Most Thai places are all kinda the same but there’s a real qualitative difference between the other Thai places in the area and this one. You really ought to do yourself a favor and try it.“

“We had a fantastic experience at Ditmar’s Thai in Astoria, New York. The food was absolutely delicious and truly authentic Thai cuisine.
My son Allen ordered the crispy duck, which was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. I ordered the whole fried red snapper with coconut sauce, and it was outstanding. Everything tasted fresh and of very high quality.
The wine was also delicious and paired beautifully with the meal. Our waiter was excellent very attentive, friendly, and genuinely made sure we were enjoying our dinner.
The prices are fabulous for the quality of food and service. We will definitely be coming back many more times. Highly recommended!“

“Uber Eats order - beef was super chewy and overdone with no flavor. Also I feel like the bean sprouts and add one should be separate. Also the broth was lackluster. I think it’s probably the only pho I haven’t finished. Crab Rangoon was nice though“

“Every once and awhile you stumble on a gem 💎 in your neighborhood and you keep it close to your heart ❤—- and stomach!! Ive lived in Astoria for 11 years and ive had many many visits to HERO THAI & IZAKAYA & i can say with supreme confidence ive NEVER had a bad meal or experience here.. This might seem excessive but ive the background to make such a grand statement.. im a veteran restaurant nyc restaurant professional with 7-nytimes reviewed 3 star chefs ..& this is my place ALWAYS my first choice.. NOT because the food is soooooo delicious— the flavors and textures just bounce off the plate..NOT because they have genuine food lovingly presented and executed,NOT because they have excellent 🧊 icy frosty cold draft beer— SINGHA!!! NOT because the menu runs the gamut of AUTHENTIC THAI AND JAPANESE cuisine, NOT because the fish 🐠 tanks always provide excellent entertainment OR the gentle price point of everything on offer …A terrific HH with SINGHA draft beers 🍻, cocktail specials and lunch and dinner chefs additions..BUT for HERO’s warm gracious service and understanding what HOSPITALITY means— as a solo diner am i im always greeted with not only a smile but a genuine interest in my visit..and that’s a rare experience..MY personal favorites are takoyaki, chive pancake, duckroll, sweet chili jumbo wings— crispy duck salad,Larb beef,Mango and avocado salad,Spicy Shrimp Salad— And entree Pad-Ka-NaMoo Grob( stir fried Chinese broccoli( lan mai) with the crispiest pork belly lardons you will ever have— I ask for it spicy 🌶 but be careful thai chilis ARE HOTTTTT!! And my favorite soup DUCK UDON NOODLE SOUP—,i always have this on a cold rainy day and nothing is better..: Ive decided not to be selfish and share the glory of this sparkling gem— it hits a lot of sweet notes for me — with so many incredible options you have so many lovely choices— I have not had every dish but i do plan on trying— what an adventure!!! Give this place a go — you won’t regret it — it never disappoints.. they are always happy to see you — really.“

“I like this place. Food was good not that amazing but they are actually good. The servers too slow for small place like that, I ordered Thai Ice Tea never come out but they put on the bill, i told them about it, they readjusted the bill.
Ordered two desserts. Black bean with sticky rice and i dont know whats they called it this tiny bites colorful shaped with mung bean inside. The black bean with sticky rice was so good. Might be too sweet for most people, I recommend to share, bcos it will be too much and too sweet for yourself. The tiny colorful bites with mung bean inside, eeuwwwww. BIG NO. It has this fragrance taste like toilet freshener. I cant.“

“Even though the food is great, we will not be back. We got the pad see ew and the Panang Duck Lychee curry for takeout dinner. We also got the chicken wings and a thai coffee.. Overall the bill came out to be $56. Honestly, the chicken wings were one of the biggest scam ever. I was shocked when I open the container and only saw 2 tiny chicken wings that they were charging $10 bucks for.
For price and good food, I rather go to pochana or kam rai thai.“

“Southeast Asian coffee tends to be overly sweet or intensely bitter, but the flavor here was perfectly balanced. The food was delicious, too—the curry, in particular, was amazing. However, I couldn't eat the roasted pork because it had a slightly off-putting, gamey taste; then again, I might just be sensitive to such things.“

“I would highly recommend Thai Tai Eatery! The food is absolutely amazing. I have been to so many Thai restaurants throughout Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn, and this is the best Thai food I had in a while. It is authentic with fresh and high quality ingredients. The people who work there are also so kind and welcoming! Such wonderful service. The Chicken Massaman Curry was packed with flavor and tender chicken. The Chicken Kee Mao was so flavorful. The fried rice was very tasty. The Chicken Chiang Mai Noodle was absolutely incredible and packed with flavor. 10/10 for the food and service.“

“I was reluctant seeing the reviews here but ordered Singapore Noodles. They were busy so it took a minute because everything was freshly made. I’ve had Singapore Noodles around the world and for that, coming out of a small place in an airport for $14.50, the portion was big and the food was good and spicey!“
