“everything i ordered was so so good!!! The portions are great and super filling, spent around $50 for two people including tip and ended up taking half of it home :D definitely a smaller space with close-together seating. i felt slightly out of place at first (some other customers were staring) but the server was so friendly and attentive :)) im gonna dream about this place until i go back LOL. My favs were the chana chapatne and the pani puri, they were both so addicting,,
other details: there’s a button to call the server to order more food, they accept Apple Pay, they give bottles of sauce if u order momos (but i had to share mine with other tables), there’s a small bathroom, and i think people eat downstairs by default (?)“

“This place is a hidden gem! It far exceeded my expectations as the food was unique but absolutely delicious. We were a group of 4 so got to try many items. The place was fairly empty because I don't think a lot of people know about it yet. The waitress/owner was lovely and attentive managing all the tables by herself. The ambiance was pretty quiet but laid back. Definitely a great place to have good conversations with friends over amazing food.
Peashoot - I regularly cook/eat this at restaurants and this was so much better than any I've tried. It's a Chinese staple but Driftwood was able to add subtle changes that infused it with so much more flavor
Mala Tots - This was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The way tater tots are supposed to be!
Roasted Bone Marrow - This was good but we thought it was going to be the star of the show. My favorite part was actually the buttered toast which had a sweetness that balanced really nicely with the salty gremolata.
BLT Fried Rice - Funnily, the next day I went to another famous restaurant that also served BLT Fried Rice. Driftwood's version was 10x better. It is heavy because of the bacon fat but it was also so delicious and well executed. The runny egg was a perfect touch.
Rice Noodle Roll - This was the surprise hit. It looked interesting but none of us expected to be blown away. Parmesan on rice noodle??? We were all fighting for the last piece because it was that good.
Driftwood Boil - If you are a fan of Boils, this is the typical fair. Nothing surprising except for the quail egg which my companions were very excited for.
Milk Tea Pudding - O M G. This is sooo dangerous. I love earl grey and pudding so I had to get this. It had a strong tea taste while being so creamy. The Crumble and honeycomb added the texture and shocks of sweetness. I could've had a bucket of this. Only way it would've been better is if it was a panna cotta. I'm drooling as I'm typing.
Maesil Soda - This was surprisingly good! It was refreshing, sour and sweet which helped cut the richness of some of the food.
Although the portions are on the smaller side since they are tapas style, they were actually so filling. All of us were able to have multiple bites of everything and we left so full and so happy. I will definitely be returning.
Parking: We found parking right in front of the restaurant. I wouldn't say it's super easy but I think you can find something by circling the block. Also as dinner was 8PM, the street parking was free.“

“Double Malatang is truly an uncut gem in terms of location food and service. I have gone around five times now and really enjoy the food. I love the spice level and it is very appropriate given the levels provided. I had the malatang about 4 times and the dry hot pot once. The beauty in this place is the ability to truly pick what you'd like to eat and cater it to your liking. It is pretty self explanatory : You pick things you like, they cook it and you eat. Tons of asian classics from mungbean to wood ear mushroom to fuzhonesee fish balls and many many more. The drink options include your traditional fare of Sodas alongside some other hidden treats (HK style iced tea) and many more. The service is absolutely amazing. The staff even with a language barrier are very nice and helpful and always offer a smile. I have gone 5 times and have not left disappointed once. If you read this review, let's support small businesses in our towns. Finally, the best part : the food. I really enjoyed the food it was the perfect level of acidity to spice to mouth-numbing sensation. My only advice for anyone eating is to eat with your brain and not your eyes or else you'll overorder. IMO : This place is a solid 5/5. I really recommend you try this. If you're scared or intimidated don't be! the first step to a great meal : is to venture out into something new.
Vegetarian options: Noodles vegetables and tons of tofu choices!“

“Just a great place to chill and good selection of beers drafted and bottled. Been here a couple times and the fries and nachos here have always been great. They have a punching machine and board games if you’re into that. No loud music blasting and the bathroom is cleaning. The staff seem nice and attentive. no really complaints. Definitely check out if you in the area“

“I grew up in Elmhurst and getting skewers at this neighborhood staple as a snack was always a treat I looked forward to. Now, I’m happy that we can buy as many skewers as we dare (before we pass the threshold of waking up with a sore throat the next morning). This Chinese BBQ skewer cart is a no-frills, mom and pop food stand on the corner of Whitney Ave & Broadway by the LIRR tracks. Most of their skewers cost between $2-$3; they’re perfect for a late night eats adventure! The seasoning the sweet Chinese couple uses has just the right amount of cumin, heat, and spice. We sat at one of their 3 tables this past Monday evening and saw a steady stream of customers lining up for their grilled skewers. When all 3 tables were full, a 4th table and set of stools was set up as well. The cart is at their spot daily between 5:30pm-1:30am - you’ll find them if you see the smoke!? “I was on a job nearby and was set on getting halal food. I saw this food truck and decided to give it to a try. This is honestly one of the best food trucks I’ve ever tried in NYC. I will never eat general tsos chicken from another Chinese food place again. He also hooked it up with extra chicken. Excellent customer service“

“There are certain things I don’t overlook . I can’t cook where I live for me and my 4 year old son so most times I buy food out . I ordered vegetable fried rice and wings and let me tell you I was surprised you gave us enough rice. It was much that it remained like wow . Other places are not like this . Thanks so much i truly appreciate that for 10$ and the food was tasty and fresh ? ?“

“I saw an ad for Tada Noodles near my apartment and was intrigued, so I tried it for dinner. The timing of the ad was perfect - I saw it on the first day of the virus lockdown when takeout/delivery became the only option. Great timing with the ad! There’s only one item on the menu - jjajangmyeon - and it’s delicious. Incredibly quick and friendly service too. Highly recommend!!!“

“It's a good spot, but it's not enough for a 5 star because the competition around it is fairly better. As far as taste goes, I'd go to Sarku Japan a block from here. For affordability, there's a vendor in the Jamaica Market where they have a lunch special for just $6. There's also a hole in the wall spot called PP Boy that has a better selection of Sushi rolls.
Anyway I'll get to why I rated this place a 4. The food is average, it's not bad but it's not good enough to stand out. Props to the ladies on service, they are on point and are very kind so I will always give good commendation on enthusiastic service. I got the Chicken bento which does come with teriyaki chicken & rice, steamed veggies, 2 spring rolls, 2 gyoza dumplings and 4 California rolls for $12.99 which is decent but would be perfect with a drink included. Chicken teriyaki w/ rice was pretty good, veggies were alright, spring rolls were good, dumplings were decent but I'd prefer them steamed than fried and the Cali rolls were alright. Could've came with a cup of soy sauce and Wasabi sauce which they didn't have so that's a miss on their part.
If this joint were the only spot of its kind within a 10 block radius, I'd come here more than once, but with Sarku Japan, PP Boy, 2 Asian fusion spots in Jamaica Market and Panda Express all within a sole block from one another, It'll be awhile before this place sees me again. Too many options for them to stand out.“

“One of the most authentic places to feast at. Visited here from Toronto, Canada and felt like I was eating a home cooked meal. The quality of the food speaks for itself in the fact that you don’t feel uneasy after filling up your belly with whatever you order from the menu. The free lassi was one of my favourite parts and I thoroughly enjoyed the buttermilk goodness. I took back 8 boxes of their famous barfi and till now I order boxes and have them shipped here, it’s been 8 years since I first ate there. Visited once again recently and can say other restaurants don’t compare. We have hundreds of India restaurants in Toronto, Brampton and Mississauga and have yet to try something as good as this place. Thanks for the great service and homemade food. Will always visit when we are in town.“
