“Perfect spot for a rainy Friday night! My wife and I stopped in for something quick and tasty and ordered the dinner box set: tonkotsu ramen, an avocado cucumber roll, and gyoza. Everything came out hot, fresh, and surprisingly fast. The food was delicious, and for the price it's a fantastic deal. Service was friendly and efficient from start to finish. Highly recommend, and we'll definitely be back!“

“Local favorite. Can’t go wrong. It’s not cheap, but worth it. I’d pass on the scallion pancakes. They barely have scallion or scallion flavor. But my main gripe is please hire competent behind the POS. Why am I asking 2 and 3 times if an order was received? Why are you answering “hello?” Instead of Handpulled Noodle? And why are you saying the restaurant is on 148th? Lol it’s in on Broadway between 148th and 149th. Just a very bizarre experience on a Friday night.“

“An interesting Asian/Japanese fusion restaurant. The food was creative and tasted pretty good. I particularly enjoyed the dungeness crab, lots of yellow crab oil/fat and some crab meat over rice. The silken tofu was also interesting, a bit salty though. The grilled sea bream and half sasso chicken were delicious. Hopefully there will be more dishes added to the menu in the future, as the current menu items seemed a bit limited. Service was good and the atomsohere was also elegant, clean and chic.“

“Ok, this place is an experience. Now with the all the chichi restaurants, Mama's is a break. It's a hole in the wall, mom and pop, home made style like you hadn't tasted before in other established restaurants. I feel I am in China and trying out their local foods. Their pot stickers are huge full of meat. The special Mama's noodle is full of surprises. I liked the way that we went there with 3, she pulled out the only table in there and clear the stuff on it and made it a dining table for us. The owner is very friendly and chatty. She told us they use the best Japanese made rice cooker and German made knives. If you want a homey and unusual experience. Drop by when you are in the hoods.“

We did not expect the $250+ Service fee on top of the $300+ gratuity. After reviewing our invoice, a huge error was discovered -- we were overcharged by $300. We were refunded for that $300 error. Air conditioner was out of service. We decided to skip dessert and wrap up dinner earlier than planned.“

“What a modern, healthy take on congee! I loved the different condiments that came with it. The olive vegetables, bamboo, fermented curd, and century egg were my favorites. Took me right back to childhood. The fermented curd is delicious but definitely pungent, so a little goes a long way!

The pickled plum soda was really refreshing, and the rice wine and rice bubbly pairings really brought out the flavors of the food while keeping with the whole rice theme.

Also loved the black and white rice dessert at the end. Really thoughtful dinner meal from start to finish. Layla is a fantastic host and so is her team. Definitely 5 stars!“

Price is based on weight, but one bowl around 1.5 lb was enough for the two of us. The foods are also hit the spot. BeiJing Duck is great, perfect size. My favourite is actually the Mushu Lettuce Wrap chicken.

A restaurant with no particular cuisine dominating the menu despite the name.

Immediately noticeable features:
- Cool, relaxed, cozy environment.
- Extensive bar--SOLD!
- Spacious bathroom.
- Surprisingly generous seating.
- Very extensive and varied menu

We came looking for 2 things: pho and sushi.
We ordered the Pho Bo, Eel, Shrimp Tempura, Spicy Crunchy Salmon sushi, and, because why not, Fried Calamari, plus 2 drinks: Whiskey Sour and Long Island.

Quick reviews:
- Our orders were taken relatively later than we'd expect, considering the restaurant not being packed.
- Pho Bo came with almost no beef in it; good portions, delicious broth, but we had to mine through the noodles to find any meat.
- Sushi was great; the only problem was the seaweed was weirdly too soggy, which made the eating experience rubbery.
- This is mostly on us for getting fried calamari at an Asian restaurant, but the calamari's breading was a bit off-putting. Despite all that, it was good!
- The drinks, no notes. Fantastic. Then again, we didn't get any more than 2.
- Good pricing, nothing much to complain about.

Overall, if all you want is to sit down and have a bowl of pho and maybe something else on the side, this place serves its purpose.“

“This is my go two when the 20th Avenue location is too crowded. They are the same store but some of dishes are slightly different. Like the tofu they use for their Sizzling tofu is a different type of tofu. Overall the food is still very good and their service is good.“
