“Farrells, West islip03/13/24Found myself meeting someone at Farrells, in West Islip, this evening..They called and canceled while I was waiting for them to show up, so I ate alone ?♂️I ordered the burger my usual medium rare, with cheddar, the bun toasted, and fries extra crispy..Holy Moly, was I surprised about how good this burger is.My surprise came from me never hearing from anyone that Farrells had a good burger!!! I think Gerry Ryan let me down on this one.??And, I asked for an Old Fashioned, and was told " "they dont make them"?Irish bar, so I'll cut them some slack?☘ Fair enough, I had a Harp, which I thoroughly enjoyed, cold, crisp, and freshThe burger came to me a near perfect medium rare. Kudos to the Chef!The taste of the meat hit all my tastebud cylinders.Salty, earthy, unctuous tastes, were all there.I'm not sure what Brand Angus they use, but it's a definite winner, in my mind.You could tell they "hand press" this hamburger, in house; just from seeing, and tasting the loose structure of the meat as it sat in the bun.Not Top 5, but definitely a "Top 10" on my Burger scale? Excellent burger.Good price, as well, $15.25, with friesI think they need a new pretzel bun, but that's just one man's opinion. It wasnt bad, but...The hand cut fries were also really good...Very crispy on the outside, pillowy soft, and a prominent potatoy taste, on the inside.The service was excellent, with the busy bartenders being very efficient with their movements.Most of the tables were filled, and more than half the bar stools were filled, when I was there at 6pm, and service did not falter.Parking was relatively easy this evening at 6pm ish, as there is a parking lot behind it, and there is street parking..I have passed there when the lot was filled to capacity, and most of the close street parking was taken, and have had to park a distance away.As I was paying the bill, and complimenting the burger to the bartender, she shared that Burgers are 1/2 off on Mondays and Thursdays?They also have a lot of Happy Hour Food specials, that are on their website, like 1/2 price wings one day, $4 Taco Tuesdays, and other things I didnt pay attention to, but noted, for future reference ?Farrells of Brooklyn ,263 Higbie LaneWest IslipRight before the Higbie, Udal Rd split03/13/24“
“Great place and I'll keep going but they need to improve the food. Please owners get with the kitchen/cooks. E.g the Turkey club..not sure what it was but never seen a Turkey club like that and it wasn't great . Again great place and the food isn't terrible ..only okay..and I've heard this from several people . If they address this food issue it'll probably make huge difference in business.“
“The aroma of beef and bacon was so amazing walking down Main street, we had to pop in for a quick bite while running some errands. So glad we did. The staff was helpful and attentive. The cocktail menu was clever as well as festive. The menu has all the right snacks and hand helds for one or a group. The events board has something posted for every day of the week. We had the Drunk Chicken Sammy with sweet potato tots and the We're Jammin Burger with battered fries. The vodka sauce with burrata elevated the chicken to the next level. Fig jam and candied bacon on the burger was on point. I will definitely partake in snacks the next time we are there for HH.“

“Although they have food, I've yet to try it, as we usually only stop by on the way home for one last drink and/or coffee after BBQing on the beach. The service is always very personable, and my boyfriend absolutely loves this place; he talked about the Gilgo Inn all throughout the off-season when we first met before I finally got the chance to visit with him.They're cash only, but they have an ATM ($3 service fee). All the seating is outside, but there's a TV inside as well as framed photos of how the place used to look, including some shots of it submerged in water following a storm some years back.The coffee is good, and the drinks are alright and won't break the bank. I think the cocktails were around $10 apiece. There are proper bathrooms across the parking lot, too.“
“AMAZING! We had a private party here and everything was perfect! Our guests have told us this was the best party and keep raving about everything! The food was delicious, as was the bourbon selection/drinks! The music they arranged for us was terrific! The service was top notch! The ENTIRE staff was so attentive, friendly and helpful! I could not have asked for a better evening for my husband's birthday. Chris was so helpful in arranging everything with me and had great ideas, as did the chef with the menu. Joe was fantastic in helping make sure the night was a hit. They even gave my husband a birthday gift, wow! I wish I knew everybody's name to mention them each individually because they were all so GREAT! We can't wait to go back for dinner and to try their other places. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to book a party or for a fun night out for dinner and drinks. Again, thank you all so much for making my husband's night truly magnificent!“
“Gem of a place. Clean establishment. Friendly staff. Excellent wings. I had the Buffalo Wings Medium. Lightly crispy, moist inside, balanced sauce. Take your son or just go hangout with Bartender Mike on a Sunday afternoon and let Mr. Bobby cook you up some delicious wings! Cool people.“

“New to the area and stopped in for the first time yesterday. This place is fantastic. Friendly people, great drinks and pint. Nice short bar menu including the wings that were tremendous. Folks were waiting in anticipation for lunch specials and rightly so. All fresh and well prepared. Prime rib sandwich was great. Cash only, old school small Irish pub, GREAT bar food. Top notch place.“
“While I was with my son and his wife, we decided to eat here, the service was good and the burgers were also good, my mom ordered an Argentinian steak (skirt) medium rare and it was overcooked plus the dish came out cold. The staff was very nice about it ,but now I know that the next time we come here, maybe we'll just stick to bar food. But overall it was a good time and we will return“
“Came in for an open jam session, first time here. Haven’t been here in years. This place has changed so much for the better! Comfortable, almost homey vibe. Great fresh tasting food, and drinks. Amazing service as well. We were always checked on by staff. They have a cocktail menu too. Just wish they had a larger variety of wine, but spoke with maybe the manager/owner and he said he will be adding that as he is finishing renovations. Will definitely be back!“
