“It’s a cozy place in the heart of White Plains that serves delicious authentic mexican food but the best is the service by the hostess and owner Graciela, we highly recommend the place . Prices are reasonable. Friendly environment Super clean.“

“Went to this place for a quick stop to eat, it’s nice and cheap, I got 3 tacos, bistec and chorizo, fell in love with the chorizo tacos and the bistec ones were also amazing. It was very cheap 12 dollars for the order of 3. The worker, her name was Guadalupe was so nice and sweet. I definitely recommend coming here for some good Mexican food. My brother ate the chalupas and his girlfriend the nachos and they also loved their meals“

“We visited this place on a Saturday, we tried Birria con arroz y Frijoles, and this was one of the best Birria in town ever! We also had Tacos arabes, the meat, seasonings and the salsa roja were beyond delicious. I have to say that costumer service is one of the best we have ever had. We highly recommend you this place, don't go with the fact that is a small establishment. You won't regret it“

“We got to the White Plains Farmers Market a bit late and Gaucho Burger Company was already sold out! So we did one better, walked around the corner for a delicious lunch at the restaurant itself. One porcetta, chicken empanada, and a strawberry/goat cheese/field green salad and we had the PERFECT rainy, chilly day-off lunch. Delicious! DELICIOUS!!! I go to the market almost every Wednesday, but Chris had never had their food and it was a hit. New favorite!“

“Where do I start...if I could give this place 10 stars I would. From expectations being surpassed to new and reinvigorated ambiance to great service from Camila. I enjoyed my time here and recommend it to anyone as a Mexican national that enjoys true Mexican dishes over the common fare that you find at a regular Mexican restaurant. They still carry all the usual suspects (burritos, quesadillas, tacos) but they also cater to those individuals that want a more decent entree (mole poblano, tampiqueña, huaraches, mariscos, etc).
We almost didn't come here cause of some low star reviews that I would not take seriously AT ALL. The food is flavorful, delicious and worth the price. Sure prices are going up...everywhere...but from what I could tell they are putting that money to good use and serving a large dish with sazon and and quality meat.
We went for Mexican Independence Day. There were a handful of busy tables. Their drinks were fantastic! We got a frozen mango margarita, a frozen coconut margarita and an Ay Mezcalita. The frozen drinks come in a very large margarita glass. Highly recommend it if you want a decent size drink. I had a Taco Placero de Chile Relleno que está de morirse. La verdad si cuesta un poquito más que un taco normal pero vale la pena y se puede compartir como aperitivo para dos o uno para una cena simple y llenadora.
From there my wife got a skirt steak entree option and this is the best skirt steak I have ever gotten at any restaurant, whether it be Mexican or American fare. The skirt steak is thick and large, and it had amazing flavor like everything else. They have about 4-6 skirt steak entree variations, and if they use the same quality meat for all those varietions then you will not be disappointed. I can only imagine how good the ribeye is.
I got a few Independencia dinner specials. The Chile en Nogada was amazing! A traditional Mexican dish in late August and September that brings out Mexican tradition. I called a handful of upscale Mexican restaurants near the White Plains area and no one was serving or knew what this dish was. The fact that Mariachi Loco was serving it for this festive holiday shows that they care about tradition and want to serve cultural dishes to their clients. We also ordered Pambazos and they were superb. I also recommend checking their Instagram for special events and weekly specials.
FYI they are going to be celebrating their 1 year anniversary in Nov since reopening after the pandemic. They closed for a few years to remodel and the renovations are amazing. This place is a gem. A little hidden but trust me...THIS PLACE IS AMAZING AND WORTH YOUR TIME.
Mucha suerte y bendiciones!
P.S. the image is of the Chile en Nogada. I wish I had taken more pictures. When I go back I will and hopefully I can post another unforgettable review.“

“We had lunch on a random Tuesday here. There was only one other table being served while we were there, so you'd think that maybe they wouldn't have their A-team in the back. But the food was surprisingly delicious. Our group ordered tacos and a turkey burger. The turkey burger was actually flavorful, and the tacos were fantastic: tasty soft tortillas just a bit crispy on the outside so that they didn't get soggy; steak and chicken both full of flavor, but the chorizo was particularly great. Guac and chips were good too (but I wish there were a few more chips!). The only thing that disappointed us was the calamari, which was a bit fishy and not very crispy, but everything else was great.
Definitely go there for their tacos!“

“Stepping into Cafe Veracruz is always a treat, and my latest visit solidified why it's my go-to Mexican restaurant in town. From the moment I walked in, the staff, especially our server, was incredibly amable and welcoming. Their genuine friendliness immediately set a relaxed and enjoyable tone for the meal.
What truly sets Cafe Veracruz apart, however, is their blazing-fast service without compromising on quality. Our food arrived incredibly quickly, piping hot and perfectly prepared. This is a stark contrast to other Mexican restaurants in the area where you often find yourself waiting an eternity.
And the food? Simply great! Every dish was bursting with authentic flavors, clearly made with fresh ingredients and a lot of care. The portions are generous, and the presentation is always appealing.
Honestly, if you're looking for fantastic Mexican food served with a smile and remarkable efficiency, look no further than Cafe Veracruz. They consistently outperform the competition in every aspect. Five stars, hands down! Place has nail it with its cleaners compare to others in town“
