“Came here with a friend to celebrate his homecoming from a long work trip. What stuck out to us both was the quality of service and attention we received as customers. The bartender was kind and chatty with us while we waited for our food, and when our ramen was served, the chef spent several minutes with us to explain techniques in properly eating ramen—but with good nature and humor, and not any kind of pretension. The food was absolutely terrific, and the ramen was delicious without being too oily or spicy. The gyoza we had as appetizers were also terrific—though they were short on gyoza for the day and so we couldn’t order an additional helping. The atmosphere is nice, though a little cramped. Overall, we had a terrific time and plan to come back as soon as we have the chance. A real gem in Kingston.“
“I've eaten here soooo many times I can't believe I've never written a review... even though, I've always recommended this place to people looking to Japanese Dining.Place is small but cozy... can get pretty packed and experience can get dampened by other loud and possibly obnoxious diners but that's often beyond the control of the restaurant.Street parking can be difficult as it's on a busy corner...Food excellent, service excellent... there's really nothing more I can say. The prices have been competitive even when seemingly everything else in the world has gotten more expensive. When the tea is good you know the place will be great....“
“Our family has gotten sushi from Yasuda at least a half dozen times in the past few months, and it's always consistently good. Unlike some other places that tuck a tiny sliver of fish in a big ball of rice, they don't skimp here. And the fish is fresh and high quality. Despite rampant inflation, they appear to be trying to hold costs down too, which is very much appreciated. This will continue to be our go-to spot for sushi.“
“Authentic! Sushi made by SushiMakio's chef with no doubts are the very best sushi i have had in the past 10 years. I was mesmerized by the famous chef , doing his art right there on the other side of the counter. I actually felt like I'm reliving "Kill Bill 2" scene when she had sushi in Japan. What else to say, we are very fortunate to have this level of expertise in town. Parking is hard to find , come early and plan ahead ! Thank you chef !For those people writing reviews here disappointed with portion vs price ratio : this is a place of food art not a fast food. If you need to stuff your bellies on a budget, your best bet is buffet or hot case in grocery store. Chef skills, selection of produce and all together decent way fo running thr place went into pricing .“
“We stopped here on our way back from a nearby ski resort. To be honest, the exterior looked old/run down and almost turned us away. However, we were pleasantly surprised how good the service was as well as the food. We'll definitely stop by again in the near future. I highly recommend if you're in the area.“
“I love this place, the food and atmosphere is amazingly awesome, so calm and beautiful. I love the artwork in the bathrooms, I think the wall of locks ? is very unique and fun! The noodle bowls are so yummy! I just wish they would add more noodles because the portions compared to liquid/meat seem off, I always buy an extra side of noodles because of this. Nonetheless, it's a great place worth the stop!Parking: Park directly right next to yum yum in front of the closed bank, there's two openings with gates“
“Great atmosphere!!!Located downtown Strand area plenty parking nearby. We stopped in for lunch. We were greeted warmly and seated right away.Everything was EXCEPTIONAL.HIGHLY RECOMMENDEDWe will be returning for sure!!!Many thanks to the wonderful staff and management!!!Parking: Free parking close by under bridge!!!“
“This place is great! Atmosphere is chill and cool but the staff is also really friendly. They know what they're doing and what they're talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. Food is pretty good, some Japanese & sushi classics and some twists, and for their prices it's 100% worth it.“
