7 Best Japanese Restaurants near Middletown

“Is this the best restaurant I’ve ever been to? Of course not. Is this one of the better FOOD COURT restaurants I’ve been to? Definitely.

The food was fresh and tasty. The green beans were really good. The teriyaki chicken was much like another food court chain: Sarku Japan, which is exactly what I hoped for. The green beans definitely put this place higher in my book compared to the meager fake cabbage/carrot slices you get at most competitors.

The person who seemed like the owner was friendly and attentive. They gave samples generously, which I appreciated. The staff also seemed comfortable and smiley, which could mean there’s good leadership.

The food court was a little warm, which is the only downside. However, that’s outside Genji’s control.

“I have frequented the restaurant several times over the years and have always had an enjoyable experience. Until yesterday. The charm of this establishment is the show that the chef puts on. While the food technically met with the restaurant’s standards the show was sadly far below expectations. The chef went through everything as if he was performing a time trial for a NASCAR pit crew. There was no showmanship, the pieces were either to large or to small, no uniformity. Just every part of the expected show was rushed and ruined the experience. I did notice however that other chefs were providing the standard experience that we would have liked to also have enjoyed. I hope that this was a one off and not a trend of decline in this establishment“

“We love coming to Fuji as a family! The food is always fresh and delicious, but what really keeps us coming back is how much our kids enjoy it. They get so excited watching the hibachi chef cook and do all the tricks, which makes dinner so much more fun for all of us. The staff is always warm and welcoming, and we’ve consistently had such a great experience here. It’s become one of those places our whole family looks forward to going to. Definitely a favorite for us in Middletown!“

“I ordered 4 orders of the same dish. I checked my bag and they gave me only 2 orders. I go back and they said they put 2 orders on each dish. Sorry that's not what I ordered. I ordered 4 separate orders. I go back and they tell me, I should've stated that I wanted them in 4 separate containers. No I ordered 4. not 2. so no u should package it how I ordered them.“

“You You is simply the best! I live over 45 minutes away from this restaurant and will go nowhere else for Chinese cuisine! The staff are amazing (especially our favorite waiter Jason), the owners Francine, Louis and their son make you feel son make you feel so appreciated and welcome in their restaurant. Our visit always starts in the bar for a traditional drink - Zombies (did I mention how amazing the drinks are?!) then off to a nice table for a most delicious dinner! You You is modern, yet keeps so many traditions of an older type Chinese restaurant. You You will always be my number one destination!“

“Beautiful dinning room, I had the seafood Combo and my wife had the sesame Chicken and Broccoli, Our meals were amazing. A nice cylinder of Liquid Refreshments, chased our meals down. And of course we had to have the Fired Ice Cream. The owners were very friendly and very polite explaining all their best served. The restroom was clean and well maintained.as we sat and ate, the afternoon late lunch people piled in. And the phone rang almost every few minutes. I truly wish they were in my home town.“
