“As I walked inside this Japanese restaurant it is decorated in dark woods so I immediately felt like I was in a Japanese spa. I was immediately greeted and seated. I had stopped in for lunch and ordered a chicken udon soup and a small sake. My first time trying sake, I have nothing to compare to but I did enjoy it as it sat well in my stomach. The broth was light, fresh mushrooms, carrots and bok choy. There was half hard boiled egg. On the side was hot pepper oil to give my soup a kick. I also added soy sauce for added flavor. The bowl was a good size as I was able to finish it completely. Their restrooms are very clean and parking was a free city lot across the street. No meters on the street but parking wasn't available.“
“Definitely love the vibe here, a good ramen bar, with a modern urban feel. Service was very quick here, barely ordered and in less than 10 minutes I got my ramen and shrimp. Also the service I feel was nice in sense they pleasant and no rush to decide plus give recommendations. Shrimp katsu was yummy, I enjoyed the fact the shrimp was flattened, so got it in one bite rather than just getting breading. Spicy mayo dip was good, could be more spicy though. Now the ramen, first chashu, was very thick, no thin slices here they don't hold flavor. Noodles themselves were fresh and just the right level of chew. My most part was the broth, usually places don't do rich broths and water them down. But here, the broth was rich it felt like a warm stew constancy wise. I was sipping it up, I enjoyed it so well, you can tell with broth they love the craft and it shows. Am glad I have new favorite ramen spot to replace the one that was lost in NYC.“
“Have been going here since 2000. My family's favorite Japanese restaurant in the Hudson valley. The staff are the nicest and the food and service are excellent. It is no wonder they have been in business for over 24 years. Try the Haedub Bob or a hot stone pot. Kani salad is also yummy. Sushi is great of “
“I love the Korean food at Toro. My favorite dish is Bulgogi with "the works", which is somewhat similar to a fajita except you wrap the beef in lettuce with red pepper paste and some rice and spice and also receive some sides such as broccoli, oshinko, a Japanese radish, pickled cucumber, and Kim Chee, which is spicy cabbage. My mouth is watering as I'm describing this dish! It is fantastic!“
“I ordered chicken with mixed vegetables, I was told that came with white rice okay for pint-size I ordered an extra pint size but I was also told that they were filled to the top so I had to use both pints to eat half of the chicken with mixed vegetables and so I'm going to go to another Chinese restaurant locally just to get some white rice for the second half of my meal. There was at least an eighth of an inch if not more to the top of the box it was very light. Food was delicious and I plan on going back but next time I'll make sure they pack my rice before I leave. Thank you for my first experience I'll be back just make sure I get enough rice next time if you don't I will.“
“Variety of Japanese and Korean food to choose from. Caveat you have to choose two main dishes if you want your food cook hibachi style but this is not a big deal. The food is delicious. I won’t give service a 5 star because our server only checked us once:) overall, this place is my go to for Japanese and Korean food. Recommend!!!“
“I thought this sushi was fresh, large, and delicious. I loved our meal. The server was friendly and attentive. I just wish they would turn the lights lower in the evening for dinner service so the ocean theme would create an underwater vibe. It is very bright for dinner.“
“When children are doing school work behind the counter, you know it's a good spot to eat.Seriously though, they are the best in, not just the area, but the surrounding areas.Broth is always on point with their soups, food is always fresh.“
“I’ve been meaning to review this place for a long time. I’ve been coming here for about a year now, and I’m always impressed with their fast service. The waitstaff seems to know my order by heart because I always get the signature poke bowl with spicy mayo, a detail that really adds that personal touch. It’s a great value, the poke bowl comes out in a bowl that’s about the size of a football helmet and costs under $20. It’s a lot of food and it’s always delicious!“
“Food was good.We had the seafood soup and lack salt which it was a big dissatisfaction for me. We also had a hand press California roll and spring rolls. Overall experience it was ok- give them a try. Their bubba tea needed a little more ice! The place is super clean. Service is fast and friendly.Parking: Located in a small plaza so there’s plenty of room to park.“
