I was disappointed because I drove across town because it states this restaurant is open 24 hours 7 days a week. I got there and the counter person told me it was carry out only. It was disappointing that we drove there just to be told we couldn't dine in. We just left and don't plan to come back. :(

The Lamp Post is a restaurant known for its delightful atmosphere and friendly staff. It offers a variety of delectable dishes, including the highly recommended 2 scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon, and wheat toast, as well as the bacon cheeseburger with lettuce, pickles, and toasted bun. The He-Man breakfast and all-you-can-eat fish dinners are popular choices for many locals. Their fried mushrooms are a must-try, and the food is often praised for being hot, fresh, and delicious. The restaurant has a family-friendly vibe, with a warm, family atmosphere that has been a staple for over 20 years. With reasonable prices and generous portions, it is a perfect spot for a date or a meal with family and friends. Many visitors say the food is consistently good and worth the price, and the staff handles carry-out orders quickly and efficiently. The menu is similar to that of an IHOP or Denny's with a heavy breakfast focus, but with more lunch and dinner options than a typical diner. The interior has a charming, old-school atmosphere, and the servers are friendly. As of this past April, the restaurant is now open 24 hours a day, and it has a large parking lot.
Recently, visitors have described the Lamp Post as an oasis on a dark night. The retro diner vibe creates a cozy atmosphere, and the staff is friendly and attentive even during late hours. Many recommend trying the gyro, which is served piping hot with griddled meat and pita layered with cold tzatziki, lettuce, onion, and tomato—described as phenomenal. Fries are crispy, hot, and plentiful, and meals like chicken strips are crispy, juicy, and flavorful. Burgers are also loved by diners. While the place could use some cleaning, with condiments and floors needing attention, overall, guests enjoy their meals and the welcoming environment. It is a good spot to try if you haven't been in a while.
For those with a summer condo near the Lamp Post, visits for breakfast and dinner have been enjoyable. The restaurant has recently undergone remodeling and cleaning under new ownership, making it much cleaner than before. The breakfast, available from 6-10 a.m. for only $5.99, includes bacon, two eggs, hash browns, and toast, which many find outstanding. Dinners are good, with homemade soup, like the cabbage soup, standing out as particularly excellent. Service has been consistently good, and the staff is friendly. Visitors recommend giving the Lamp Post a try, especially if looking for a budget-friendly meal.
Many customers praise the service, noting that servers like Karson deliver hot, fast food with a friendly attitude. The staff overall is very nice and welcoming, making it a relaxing place to enjoy a meal during the day.
