“The Gem of Appalachian Hwy - OH32/Rt50E”

Wife and I was just getting back from a 800 mile LaborDay Weekend Roadtrip, we came thru CincinnatiOH and onto Appalachian Hwy which was a perfect traveling scenic highway to travel toward AthensOH.
Wright before AlbanyOH we started getting a little hungry and it was about Lunch Time, so my Wife started researching Google Maps for place to stop at to have a bite to eat Google Maps pin pointed in on Mammie’s Country Kitchen which she stated im not positive but i believe this may be a Ole Elem. Schl Cafeteria, we was both little excited to head back to school after 40yrs (lol).
Once arrived to location sure enough it was a Ole Schl Cafteria, just awesome!!, we entered thru doors and it was just as nothing had been changed (Step back n Time) seen the walls of lockers and walls.
We entered thru the doorway of Cafeteria / Mammie’s Country Kitchen and was met by the Hostess/Waitress she was so very nice with a great appearance and attitude.
She took our orders which was (2- Hamburgers with each Crinkle Fries & our desserts was a Pie each) the food was cooked to perfection and brought out to our table within 10–15minutes it all tasted Delicious and it the Spot just what we needed to finish out our travel.
While setting there waiting for our orders to be brought out to our tables gave us time to look around at the Cafeteria which had the looking of a Ole Schl Cafeteria that had the Chalkboard, Old Seats and etc, defiantly do not change a thing here its perfect for us all ole timers.
This is a Restaurant you do not want to pass up defiantly make a stop here, we defiantly plan stopping here when we are headed back west / east from now on.

Parking: Pull wright up to Front of School Doors and Mammie’s Country Kitchen, there is also medium size Parking Lot and Sidewalks n Steps are in good shape as well.”

“Took my father out for breakfast this morning and had the nicest server. She was super friendly and had a great recommendation on what to get. I had the breakfast burger and dad had the biscuit stack. The food was great and very generous portions. When we left, Dad forgot his cell phone on the table. We only knew that because our server came running out of the door as we got to our vehicle. Unfortunately, I didn't remember her name but we are very thankful and will definitely be back.”

“Everything was fantastic. The atmosphere is fantastic, the food is amazing, the outside patio where we played music is a great spot for people to hangout. The sound engineer was easy to work with and provided a great mix and sound for the patio setting. The alcohol selection was enormous, and all the servers and bartenders were friendly and quick. Definitely somewhere I will be going back to with the family to eat and somewhere our band High Valley Ramblers are looking forward to returning to play!”

“We found this restaurant on trip advisor. It didn’t disappoint. We started with the carrot and ginger soup and the red pepper soup. Both were excellent. We had the specials: Chicken Curry and Lamb Meatball curry. Both were scrumptious and filling. We had dessert too! Baklava and the chocolate torte. You get a very small piece of baklava. It was very good, but you could tell it was probably frozen. The torte was good, but could use more raspberry sauce. Highly recommend this restaurant”

“We held a private alumni event for The Singing Men of Ohio at The Side Bar last weekend and it was incredible. Not only was the staff so amazing to work with leading up to the event, but the price was unmatched and the space itself was perfect. The bartenders working that night were incredible as well. We fit about 150 people in the venue and it was completely private to our group. It provided for us an elevated event that was suitable for our alumni to interact with current members of the group. I have a feeling Side Bar will become really popular among students and alumni alike and be around for some time. All weekend, our alumni were commenting how much they loved the event at Sidebar and hoped we returned there. If you're looking for a great place for students and alumni to gather, check this place out. 15/10!”
