“Wanting to eat sushi, my cousin and I were happy to find Shogun. The sushi was outstanding. We had two specialty rolls, the Green Dragon with eel and the Dreamland with shrimp tempura and spicy salmon and a regular called Passion with yellow tail. As an appetizer, we had crab ragoon, which was spectacular. The waitress created kid chopsticks for me, so that I would be able to eat with chopsticks. The customer service was great.“

“We tried “Star of India” for the first time this weekend and it certainly will not be the last! The curry is to die for, the food was ready quickly, and the worker who handed the food off to us was so friendly! 5 out of 5!“

“Stopped here for lunch on a motorcycle ride heading to hocking hills. The location was great. Right on the river - great views. Had brisket and wings & couple beers. The wings would have been better had they been cooked longer or a bit crisper. The brisket was good. The service was great!! 😊“

“Decided to stop in for the first time with some friends and I was NOT disappointed. Wonderful atmosphere, food was amazing, Felicia was phenomenal behind the bar and the drinks she made were top notch. Recommended it to several friends and we’ll be back! 💜“

“Our first time visiting this amazing local restaurant. Unfortunately, they were out of lasagna. But, the chicken alfredo, which was recommended, was literally the best that I’ve ever had! 10/10!!! We will be back!“

“Why is everything on your chef salad cut up so very tiny? It takes away from the pleasure of eating a chef salad. The broccoli and cauliflower are so tiny I can't even really taste them. I love chef salad but never again.“

“Can't beat it for the money,been going here since I was little with my Dad and now I take my kids...It's been here for years for a reason, it's a known and loved landmark in Parkersburg...Simple sells, and it's cheap! Many years ago it hosted plate dinners for workers in the area but now it's just your basic hamburger and hotdog shop. Edit: it’s been 10 yrs since my last review. The prices have gone up dramatically, they take debit now, which is sad. Always appreciated the cash only. I don’t mind a little updating but I was there the day they took out the juke box, sad, now they continue redo the inside and clearly trying to add new stuff. They should’ve left it the way it was. I rarely ever go now because of their prices and the changes have taken some of the nostalgia away. Sad to say, but if the prices don’t go back to what they were pre C19, then I give this place 2 maybe 3 years to survive with these higher prices. It’s not worth it at those prices, and the nostalgia is rapidly disappearing. I’m not here to argue about it. It’s just my opinion. This place was a staple for me and my kids… so it’s sad for me to anticipate its demise. Even their service hours are jacked up now. And they’re serving nacho cheese….. if I say I want cheese on my hotdog, I want it the way it’s been made for my 42 yrs on this earth, with sliced cheese. Do I make it that way at home, no. But that’s ALWAYS how it was at Slop Shop. I don’t want asked if I want nacho cheese. Why do you all feel the need to have nacho cheese??? STOP changing things. Stop trying to “update” or whatever you think you’re doing. You are ruining it. And it makes so many of us terribly sad and disappointed.“
