“This was a great find today! We are in town & wanted to do something local. I have always been interested in this history. Brenda was so friendly & offered stories about the Hatfield's. The moonshine is amazing & Brenda's wine is too. I could have stayed all afternoon! A wonderful time for us. Check them out! You won't be disappointed!!!“

“Very clean, nice atmosphere. Staff was professional and well dressed. Ordered 2 types of sushi, and shrimp and steak hibachi. Overall good meal. It was hard to figure out what type of sushi to get, they have their own specific recipes that are different enough from typical recipes that it was hard to know what to get. The salad was okay, except for the water in the bottom of the bowl? It was odd and diluted the delicious ginger dressing. Overall though, the meal was good. Fried rice was delicious, hibachi was well prepared.“

“We've come here a few different times to use the driving range, but only recently stayed to eat there as well. The sausage pizza is AMAZING and now will likely be a constant guilty craving for getting my pizza fix. Will definitely be coming back for some 'za soon!“

Stellas Gelato/Specialty Market Ice Cream Shop • $$
202 Hale St, Charleston

“While they do offer a small selection of spices and oils and such, this one-room shop seems to be most geared towards gelato. I held a bit of skepticism that this would be meaningfully different from other ice creams in the area, but this did taste like gelato. They had a spread of eight flavors, with two sorbettos. My cherry almond and mint chip were dynamic. It wasn't a huge portion, but smaller portions on desserts are probably wise. This represents an alternative dessert that the area could use.“

“One of the best experiences I have ever had at a food place. Very nice staff and well cooked food. The ribs were spot on and the chicken wings were cooked just right and I recommend the garlic parmesan sauce with the wings. My daughter loves the macaroni bowl with pulled pork. The service was very well. Everyone made sure I got exactly what I ordered and it was made right. Michael was our server and he did a great job at making sure that we understood everything and did a good job at explaining what comes with every meal. We were a little late coming in at 6, but they were nice enough to leave the place open for us to eat before they officially closed.Parking: Was easily able to pull up in the mini van with no problems (yes, I do have twin turbos on the mini van) ;)Kid-friendliness: The staff was very kind to my family, so much so that I think my daughter has a crush on Michael.Wheelchair accessibility: My daughter was easily able to get into the establishment in her wheelchair.“

“So my wife and I went here for our 22nd wedding anniversary, first time here, on a recommendation, and let me tell you that this was an experience. First off, I made a reservation, so they knew going in it was our anniversary. They had us set at a special table, decorated for the occasion, everyone here was absolutely amazing. Sandra came to our table and talked to us personally and made us feel very welcome, also Mark came to our table several times and took our orders and made sure it was all special. First off, we got the stuffed banana peppers as a starter, and these things were so packed full of flavor and were so large, I was super happy with these. I got the Cajun Chicken Pasta. again, the flavor on this plate was great, it was an amazing blend of spices, granted, the plate was not as it should have been as they were out of some of the items that went in the dish, but they substituted the items at no charge. my wife got the braised beef I think, it was great, I only tried a taste but it was really good, had carrots and some sort of sauce it was setting in, not sure what all it was. but it was very tasty. All in all, this was an amazing experience, Sandra and Mark were outstanding, and we will hands down go back again. Live entertainment made the night so much more special for us. Also ended with a Blueberry cheese cake cobbler. Recommended by Mark, and it was so good.“
