“This was our first experience with ordering from here. Fresh ! Fresh ! Buffalo chicken wraps, 1 with crumble, 1 with ranch and 1 with blue cheese dressing. All came with fries. Fries were good, plenty of ketchup and napkins. Food was hot, wraps were grilled and huge, vegetables inside fresh, chicken was crispy dressing was good. Loved this wrap! Next time I would skip the fries and only order wrap. Too much food. Lol. I also ordered Caesar wrap to try grilled chicken. Not my fav, but if it had shaved parm, and some tomato slices it would be great. Romaine was crunchy and chicken was hot. Just a little plain. Overall I'll say great first experience! “I've traveled all across the country and been to hundreds of dives and The Islander is hands down my favorite place to go. The food is great, the steaks are done perfectly and the staff are all very sweet and attentive, even when it's at full capacity. Coco, thank you for the warm welcome the first night I came in there. Brooklyn, Kate and Amanda, y'all made the best team and a great environment on New Year's, the rest of the staff that I don't recall all of your names, all of you have made this the best place ever. “We were traveling from Cleveland home but were all hungry even before leaving Cleveland. We didn't want to stop anywhere in the direct city for food because you had to pay for parking basically everywhere and every place we did stop someone was walking around person to person begging or even demanding money. So I searched sit down burger restaurants that were on our route home but just outside of city and this place came up. It was perfect! Not far from the aquarium in Cleveland, free parking, right off the highway and it felt very comfortable for myself and family. The food was delicious and they made it to serve. I definitely recommend this place.“

I was then asked for my order and well , how do I say this, I ordered a simple burger and then was asked if I wanted to see how they got their beef, I was taken to the back and was then molested by 2-3 of their employees. “We love Spotted Dog food. Always had great service. Tonight the ball was dropped. Took 20 mins to be acknowledge to get a drink(maybe 8 at the bar). Never mind the big sigh and eye roll as we sat down AND still wasn't told Hi. 1 hour for food. okay Its a Friday night we understand. Our fries were soggy a cold. chicken tenders cold. wings cold. It def was sitting up there waiting a while to be brought out. We said something she said it was our fault for going outside for 5 mins. We know the difference between food sitting for awhile before being served. Extremely disappointed. We will be back but maybe when someone else is working.“

“The burgers here were really good, but nothing to really write home about. This place had your typical American sports bar atmosphere. The service was pretty fantastic and couldn't really have been better on a fairly busy Wednesday night during a Guardians game. Their tater tots are really good. The kids enjoyed their burgers and mac and cheese. We ordered the Buffalo chicken dip, which was really good, but gave all of us stomach issues it seemed - so I would definitely steer clear of that. Would give them 5 stars if it weren't for that issue.“

“First and second visitWent to eat with my son home from the Navy and the atmosphere was like he was still on the ship with his team, one of the family. Service was second to none! The food was so good my entire work crew ordered it the next week for lunch! I recommend the mozzarella sticks. I’m not sure how you can make those better, but they did! Also it seems any burger because I’ve had the jr burger and jack burger both great! Can’t wait to try the specialty nights they offer!“

“Characters has been around for a long time and for good reason! It is solid American bar food at an exceptional price point. On Wednesdays they have a 6 oz sirloin steak for $5.99! If that isn't motivation enough to get you down there, let me tell you about their wings. They are pretty damn good! The wing night isn't as good of a deal as it once was. I believe they are $1 a wing.“

“My wife and I were pleasantly surprised by the warmth and friendliness of this local bar and grill. We stopped in midday for a quick bite and Maria the hostess, bartender, waitress, chief cook and bottle washer, welcomed us like long lost family. My wife and I shared a fish dinner which was served hot right from the fryer and the French fries were hand cut. The menu is limited, but Maria ran through their daily specials for the week and shared that she prepared a lot of the items from scratch. We were even gifted a large cabbage from regular customer who brought it in to see if it might be needed on the grill for St. Patty’s Day. We will be back to try out the specials.“
