Great neighborhood spot to get some really good fish and chicken and homemade cakes and cobblers I highly recommend you check them out. Fresh made to order battered fish and made to order battered chicken tenders and the coleslaw is really good as well.
The chicken is not my fave but overall not bad, they never have chess pie amongst other things. They're chess pie is really good but they're out of it more than they have it. I wouldn't recommend this location because they just simply don't keep up with their products.
Whoever the daytime cook is at the Avondale location needs a raise. Chicken is 10/10 EVERY time!

Hook Fish & Chicken Reading Rd is fresh, hot food made as ordered. They love the lemon pepper on the fries and the philly cheese steak sandwich, calling them amazing and never disappointed. The food feels home cooked style, not mass produced fast food trash, and is worth a 10-15 minute wait. Prices are pretty good. The owner is super friendly and kind. She gets an attitude, cuts you off when you try to talk, don't refund money when they mess your order up, and argue with you about your food.
