Great food but not too fancy.
Since new owners came in, service is terrible and food quality has decreased. Takeout orders? You risk getting the right order and getting what you paid for. Seems counter staff can’t get it together. Prior owner John had it down right all the time.
Very reasonably priced. I have a big mouth, and the triple decker sandwich is so tall that I can barely stretch my jaw to fit it. It also came with a bag of chips and 2 pickle strips, all for $11.59.

Red Squirrel is a hidden gem lunch spot in Queensgate, known for fantastic sandwiches at a reasonable price. Despite its unassuming exterior, the inside is surprisingly large, clean, and brightly lit, creating super comfy vibes perfect for any gathering. The menu is plentiful and family-friendly. The turkey & Swiss hot sandwich is mentioned as phenomenal, while the chicken salad and bacon, as well as the double decker egg salad and BLT, are praised for their deliciousness and good portion sizes. The omelette, fried eggs, potatoes, bacon, and blueberry pancakes are all perfectly cooked and very good. The atmosphere is laid back, resembling a diner, with friendly regulars and excellent service. Overall, it's a great spot for delicious food at reasonable prices, but visitors should note that it closes by 2:00 p.m.
