My wife says to me "don't be to hard on them. It's hard to get enough staff these days". So, for this reason, I will compromise with three stars. But I have to say, there were only three servers for the entire restaurant on a Friday night. Our server had 11 tables and she was scrambling like crazy to keep up. We stumbled upon this little French bistro following an afternoon at the Cincinnati Art Museum, and we were so delighted! The service was excellent and the food was inspired and delicious. Perfect comfort French food - with a really cool view overlooking the Ohio river. I cannot wait to return to try a number of the other dishes on the menu.

We have been avid fans of all things Jean-Robert for decades now, his restaurants always being our go-to especially for special occasions. The Bar a Boeuf USED TO BE his restaurant we liked the least, mostly because it felt a bit neglected and the food and service were off.
