Republic Food and Drink Reviews
Excellent service and the food was delicious.
Friendly service that knows how to expedite when you are going to a show after you eat!
We were there last night and the service was horrible food was ok. Once the waitress took our order we didn’t see her until we were done eating. Maybe if she would have checked on us I could have told her that my pork chop was burnt. She managed to check on the other tables multiple times but ours nope. This was our first time there.

Republic Food and Drink is a popular spot for a quick meal before an event, especially due to its prime location next to Playhouse Square. The staff is known for being efficient and friendly, with cheerful waitresses and attentive maitre'ds. The menu features tasty dishes like fish and chips, crispy shrimp, and prime rib, with generous portions. Recent diners have enjoyed the delicious salad, rice bowl, and appetizers like Brussels sprouts. The prime rib and loaded baked potato are often praised as delicious, while some dishes like French onion soup and pierogies may not always meet expectations in flavor and texture. Customers have also highlighted the delicious pear martini and tuna nachos, noting the friendly bar staff. The restaurant is also appreciated for its good service, with the sous chef sometimes coming out to add extra sauce or present special dishes. The atmosphere is lively, especially during visits before Broadway shows, with friendly conversations and thoughtful service at the full bar. The newly introduced chef has shown care for customer preferences, offering complimentary mussels and pasta modifications that guests enjoy. Overall, Republic Food and Drink offers a decent dining experience with helpful servers and an enjoyable atmosphere, making it a solid choice for a quick meal near the theater district. While some have expressed disappointment with certain dishes like Beef Bourguignon and potatoes, many find the food tasty and the location very convenient. The restaurant’s good service and lively environment make it a worthwhile stop before a show, though exploring other options might lead to more memorable experiences.
