“Heart of Gold has so far been the best bite to eat in Cleveland since I moved here from the South. The atmosphere is trendy but laid back with good lighting and a cute small bar. I really loved the menu design, it is very obvious that even the smallest details of this restaurant have been thought out.The overall menu has an interesting and cohesive direction that incorporates Southern and Italian food - which to me was very reminiscent of the kind of fare you'd find in a lunch spot in New Orleans - especially their Tiki drinks on offer. The service was wonderful; everyone was kind, helpful, and seemed excited about the food.We chose the Roman, the fried chicken sandwich, the waffle fries, and the onion rings with the house made ranch. The Roman is a solid sandwich where you can taste every part mentioned in the menu description. I thought all of the ingredients played well together and reminded me a bit of a muffeletta. The waffle fries were very good - I thought the everything seasoning was a very smart choice (the ridges in the fries hold the seasoning in place) and were perfect for dipping. The fry crispiness to fluffiness ratio was to me a perfect balance. My only complaint is that they tasted a little too much of oil.The onion rings were very surprising to me. They are to this date the best onion rings I've ever had. The breading was perfectly crispy and the onion stayed in place upon biting it - which is typically my main issue with onion rings. The sauce drizzled on top paired well with the sweetness with the onion, and the horsey sauce added the right amount of heat. The chicken sandwich was overall a good chicken sandwich. The bread and the maggi mayo punch above their weight and those alone make this a stand out. The chicken was crispy and perfectly cooked. I personally think the chicken itself could use a little more flavor, but again that is only my taste.I can't wait to return to this restaurant and try the other items on the menu. Don't miss out on this place.“

“I went here with my gentleman friend the other day. Loved the dogs! I also loved the rosé wine since I'm not a beer drinker. The waffle fries were to die for, especially with the cheese sauce; the menu said it's beer cheese but luckily I couldn't taste beer. The Little Gem Salad was disappointing, though; the romaine wasn't cut! You get it whole, so I had to cut it up. I had to prep my own salad! The dressing was meh, but the salmon I got with it was delicious. I'l be back...but I will skip the salad.“

So I switched over to the mac n cheese (everything is vegan btw, and with most of the stuff you can't tell at all). The mac n cheese is incredible. Bartenders are always very nice, the food came out quickly and there are frequently shows, karaoke, or dollar country nights here. Pool if you're lookin' to play billiards, and the beer on tap is always great (got a two hearted IPA this time around).“

The club was packed with local musicians and music lovers of all ages and although not all of the acts were of profressional quality, it was a supportive and loving audience and much of the music was very good.If you live in the area, make it a regular stop. When we got there, the place was already set-up, a table for gifts, for desserts, for soft drinks and coffee and for the main course. The food we ordered was fresh, great, and served hot. The food is made from scratch (not from frozen or store bought). They have outstanding wings with 40 house made sauces which our attendees just gobbled up. We didn't use them but the staff offered to suggest games a few times which would be great if you want to try something new or aren't sure what you'd like. Overall it was a great experience after my first time and I will definitely be coming back. The only thing I would say that could be negative is the noise and the wait times since it was very busy (though we went on a Saturday evening).Parking: Parking was interesting since the the cafe is in Cleveland. There were actually a couple bar stools open so we just ended up ordering and eating there. Our table actually only took 10 minutes to be available. We did not let our phones eat first lol, hence the bad photos. I got the shrimp basket and side salad. Shrimp was so good and the cocktail sauce tasted like they made it with the perfect amount of horse radish. My husband got the fish and chips. Fish was flaky and tender and the fries were yummy! It IS a bar and we visited at 3pm and the clientele and employees were super nice and personable. 11pm may be different ;) . Even with a few cool machines out of order there were plenty of machines from old to newer that were fun and available. The drinks were a respectable cost. Ledger Bar Bar • $
2017 E 9th St, Cleveland

“The Ledger Bar is a small (I mean small) bar situated on the balcony that overlooks the Metropolitan at the 9's Hotel Lobby. Since the Metropolitan is home to an apartment complex, an upscale hotel, a rooftop bar, a dog park, a Pilates studio, a theater, a basement vault bar, and a "high-end" eatery, there's a whole lot of people constantly coming and going. Sitting at the four (five?) two-person tables situated right at the balcony railing means you can easily lean over and watch people come and go while sipping your drinks. Unlike the rest of the bars in the hotel, I was told there was no drink menu at the Ledger, and the bartender (who waited my table!) simply asked what flavor profile I was desiring tonight. The resulting drink he made was honestly good, and I really enjoyed it. Zero idea what was in it to ever order it again (and he was really overworked to ask!), but it was a neat experience of a "craft your own experience". There were a few beers on tap. I'm unsure about wine. Centro's food menu (restaurant downstairs) appears to be available here. There's a single unisex bathroom within steps of the bar, and the regular hotel lobby bathrooms are down a floor. As conference rooms are nearby this bar, I'd also probably guess there's a large conference room bathroom block too, but I didn't find that one. The rest of the bars and restaurants in the Metropolitan tend to take most of the attention here, and the Ledger has a much more laid-back, chill vibe. A lot of people were watching a sports game (baseball, I think?) on the TV behind me. With the smaller space and wide "open" area of the full lobby, the Ledger feels like your calmest, quietest bar option out of the available places at the Metropolitan.“

“Fun local place. Friendly people and bar tenders have always been excellent. Message to the owner. You have improved with your stereotyping (type of hat or the way it is worn). Realize that has nothing to do with the character of the person.“

“It’s always a fun time at The Fairmount! Food and drinks are delicious. I would recommend if you’re coming with a group to call ahead and make a reservation as the place is pretty much always packed in the evenings. We’ve done multiple times and they have both indoor and outdoor dining. The patio is very nice and dog friendly.“

“Still family owned, still carrying on the legend of Mitzi - many local articles were written about her over the years. A recent gentle makeover kept all the 110-year old features, it still feels like home. One of Cleveland's best bars, a literal time machine, so old school you are buzzed in at the front door just like Miss Mitzi did for decades. Nothing trendy here - which makes it perfect. Always an interesting night, with a mix of old timers, art school students, and devotees of authentic saloon vibes.“

“It was a nice surprise, hidden gem. We were driving by and decided to stop in. It was quiet when we arrived. Service was good and friendly. Then a 1/2 hour later it was packed for karaoke. Which turned out to be very entertaining. The crowd was friendly and fun. Looking forward to going back.“
