Johnson’s Real Ice Cream offers delicious ice cream and friendly staff, with many flavors to choose from. Customers can ask for a sample when looking to try something new. It is a little on the higher priced side, but definitely worth it, and it is open later than most ice cream shops. Guests can choose a classic sundae flavor from the board or create their own, and the ice cream treat is made just the way asked. The shop serves great, very traditional and creamy ice creams, including triple vanilla, mint chip, and green apple sorbet. Johnson’s has been around a long time, so clearly has passed the test of time. One visit included a waffle cone with Butter Pecan and Praline Pecan, which was very creamy, and a pup cup with ice cream, whipped cream and a dog treat. The environment is beautiful, fresh, and lively, with easy parking out front, a clear flow of people in a line, inside eating areas, and a bench out front. The ice cream is waaaaaaay better than Jeni’s, with more ice cream for your buck, worth a longer walk from a downtown hotel for the quality and quantity, and a quiet atmosphere.
