I really only come here for one thing, and that is the Hot Tamales, and honestly for how much they give you at the price they ask, it is well more than worth it. If you are looking for some comfort food with a kick I would recommend you try them.
This little restaurant is one of the city's hidden jewels. It's a great place for a quick bite to eat and they also have some of the best cheesecake in town. That's one of the things they actually just can't keep enough in stock. I grew up with these flavorful tamales all my life and to my great surprise about a year ago they started carrying this phenomenal cheesecake and they have it in flavors and varieties that I've never heard of anywhere else in the city. The location was nice on a major roadway, but when we looked for it, it was difficult to locate. We had actually passed right by it. The food was good, but having certain elements hang out in front of it caused me concerned. Also we were given a hyped up price for what we purchased until my wife questioned the price quoted and then we were given the correct price with an apology , from the salesperson of I did not know what I was thinking. Pretty suspect behavior.
