“I eat here ALL the time and I’m NEVER disappointed except when they are closed or I’m to late to order, I’ve tried just about the entire menu and I’m a very VERY picky eater and I buy here with ease every single time, I recommend the salmon it’s the BEST in the city (says me) especially compared to the the many other restaurants I’ve tried, I LOVE this place, wish it was open 7 days a week.“

“The food did not disappoint. I was at the shop getting my hair done and my beautician kept raving about this soul food restaurant called Crenshaw's. After getting my hair done, I was hungry and I wasn't too far from the restaurant so, I stopped in. I was greeted with a warm and friendly lingo that made you feel like family. I got the shrimp Philly 🔥 and I got my husband a Perch dinner, which was well seasoned and fulfilling. I will definitely be going back.“

“Having a tip automatically added to the bill of two people is off-putting. For the record, I'm a good Tipper. I did actually add to the 15% automatically added because our server was awesome. But tipping is an addition, not part of the bill. Heck, add it to the cost of the food and I'll pay it. but not in tipping. that's my choice.“

“Would always order on Uber Eats and finally decided to stop in and see the place for myself and it’s well decorated and CLEAN…. We ordered the dinner special and EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS I LEFT NO CRUMBS… I also ordered their banana pudding and boy I tell you it’s delicious“

“After a long work week of plowing and salting, I needed some real home-cooked food. I called ahead and placed an order, let them know I was about 25 minutes out, and when I arrived my food was ready in about 5 minutes—they made it work.

I sent my grandma to pick it up for the family, and she said the place was very clean, the staff was friendly, and they even offered her a drink while she waited. She’s a senior, so that kind of hospitality means a lot to me. Customer service like that is rare these days, and the way they treated my grandma speaks volumes. Truly a godsend.

We ordered 3 soul bowls, a side of red beans and rice, corn muffins, and a piece of orange roughy. The yams were delicate but still held together. The mac and cheese was creamy with a nice cheese pull. The dirty rice had a slight spice that was balanced perfectly by the sweet cornbread or yams in the bowl. The chicken fritters weren’t overly seasoned and complemented the bowl really well. The orange roughy was lightly breaded with great flavor.

The only thing I’d personally pass on is the fries—but with all those sides, fries were the last thing I needed anyway.

If you’re looking for a filling, comforting two-step meal, the $15 soul bowl is absolutely the move. Big thanks to the cooks and the staff. I’ve seen comments about consistency, and I get it—that’s exactly why people keep coming back.

I’ll definitely be back and plan on ordering a couple half pans of sides for my holiday dinner to support a local business. Just know when Jovani R places an order, it’s all love, family.

“I got a catfish dinner with dressing/gravy and mac and cheese. Mac and cheese was fantastic to me. Made just like I like it but the dressing was a little too sweet for my taste. Good flavor but sweet. Fish was great. I did get some strawberry lemonade kool-aid. It was good and sweet. I would definitely go back.“
