“Having a tip automatically added to the bill of two people is off-putting. For the record, I'm a good Tipper. I did actually add to the 15% automatically added because our server was awesome. But tipping is an addition, not part of the bill. Heck, add it to the cost of the food and I'll pay it. but not in tipping. that's my choice.“

“We ate at the downtown location last night. I’ve eaten here a few times and I’ve always loved it. This visit was my best to date. We ate at the bar and Khadija (sorry, if misspelled) was our server. She was excellent and very attentive while also respecting our privacy. Also, the chairs at the bar are the comfiest seats my cheeks have ever sat on at a bar! 🤭 Now the food…we had Soul Rolls, which have never let me down yet! Yummmm. Then we shared fried catfish, smothered pork chops, house potatoes, candied yams, and Mac n cheese. Delicious!! 🤌 The quality and quantity for the price cannot be beat. Especially for downtown eating. We had enough food left for our lunch today! Oh, don’t let me forget the muffins….🤤. We will be back our next trip to CLE.“

“My First Time having this place !!! When I say DELICIOUS Isn’t the word, food was Phenomenal, I ordered fish, spaghetti, baked beans and greens. And it was very tasty, staff was very friendly also, welcomed me with a smile and when I received my food I was greeted with a smile. I will be coming back, thanks again for the wonderful service!!“

“I called ahead thinking I could grab my lunch quickly, but it ended up taking about 40 minutes from start to finish. I had to pull up, pay, and then wait for my food instead of just picking it up, which was a little inconvenient for a lunch break—but manageable. Lately, it seems like a lot of business have been having issues with people ordering and not actually coming to pay and get their food. Making it harder on everyone else. They don’t do DoorDash, which is a sucks when it’s a busy day.

That said, the food is absolutely worth it. The pork chop dinner is hands down the best in Cleveland, and the pork chop sandwich I grabbed for a coworker surprised her too. I’ve been coming here for years, even after moving away, and it’s still the same top-tier pork chops. Worth the wait, even if the pickup process could be a bit smoother.“

“I went here to enjoy a night out with staff and it was the perfect little bar that we needed. The staff was so friendly and great listeners. I ordered a tequila sunrise and a prime rib philly steak sub with fries and mozzarella sticks. I absolutely loved both! The mozzarella sticks are topped with parmesan cheese and were cooked just right. This is a great place for a quick bite to eat and drink. The Dj was also full of life and was very entertaining ? Thank you! ?“

“I just tried Mattie Ruth's for the first time and I got the smothered pork chops with tomatoes with okra, mac and cheese. It was the best tasting food. The porkchops were so good that the made me cry. I will eat here again, just might be lunch today.“
