“This was my go-to spot during a week long convention in Cleveland. We were greeted by Harold who took great care of us at the bar. The food, atmosphere, and service were so great we came back a couple of days later where we spent time talking to the owner. We felt like we were part of the family there. The food couldn't be better. The bursting flavors of the gumbo and candies yams, are something to write home about. Can't wait to come back here next time I'm in Cleveland.“
“I heard a lot about this place and we stopped in for some grub. So glad we did. We were greeted when we walked in and asked right away what we would like to drink. The server had a lot of good things to say about the menu items. When our order arrived the food aroma was amazing. We totally enjoyed our food and took some home because you get plenty. Burgers, pork, and sides were all soooo gooood!! Can't wait to go back and try something else ?Parking: Front parking with a meter, free in evening, and I think there's parking a couple doors down in a lot.Wheelchair accessibility: Street parking has a big curb, no handicap spots, but the restaurant entrance is flat to get thru the door.“
“Met these two wonderful restaurant owners in one of the the isles at restaurant depot lookin for syrup. We both exchanged information and both said that we would check out each others establishments just trying to support each-other and black business. Today I decided that I would order lunch for all the staff at my restaurant and that it would be from their restaurant and let me just skip all the small talk everything was flat out delicious!!! We ordered the Salmon Philly, Chicken Philly, Turkey Polish Boy, Perch Dinner, and a Chicken Wrap and let me just tell you I have absolutely no complaints and my staff all enjoyed their meals. I would also like to mention that my food was prepared in a timely manner and super fresh!!! Honestly I stayed and chatted for a while after it was done and had a nice little drive back to my restaurant and my food was still hot and ready to go no microwave needed!! I will be returning!!! Great Food!! Great People!!! Great Job!!! Blessings!!“
“I love this place. I have brought several coworkers here and they also enjoyed there meal. The soul rolls and mac and cheese are my favorite. I also like the greens and cabbage! The yam pudding is also so delicious that I get it almost every time! This is not a fast food place so there will be a wait that's well worth it . The staff is courteous and friendly! The place clean and has seating if you want to dine in. I will be back and I encourage anyone who likes the home cooked meal appeal to your lunch or dinner on the go to check them out!“
“Food was good they need to get sturdier take home containers I ordered a turkey wing dinner with two sides which were all excellent but the Styrofoam container just wasn't sturdy more gravy spilled all in the plastic bag then what was left in the container ?“
“Visited the location in Shaker Square. Customer service was excellent, words can’t do it any justice! Everyone spoke and greeted customers and checked on customers not in “their” section. My father and I had the shrimp and grits. Our waitress didn’t like the presentation of the food so she boxed it up for us to take it to go and brought us another order out. Food was great both times and I loved the cornbread. 10/10 experience for the food, service, and atmosphere. I highly recommend this place.“
“We have an absolutely amazing time every time we eat here! Perfect for a romantic, late night reservation with a group of 6 or less. Kitchen closes at 9 so get your order in- but the waitress told us right away so we didn't miss it! Great recommendations and waitress very knowledgeable about specials and favorites.
