“This place was really great. Went there around 12:40pm and the women making the pizza behind the glass was so nice. She put on a small show for my 2yr old and she watched in amazement as she tossed and made the dough. I really wanted to leave her a tip. It was also really nice seeing the vegan cheese and regular cheese not crossing at all. So it made me definitely more confident when ordering my vegan pizza“

“I will be honest, I haven’t eaten there yet but just had the greatest experience that restored my faith in humanity just a little bit. I was in the Akron area for training with TNVC and I assume my iPad was stolen. Today it pinged at someone’s house and then it pinged in the parking lot of the Basement a few hours after I locked it and left a message for the would be thief. I called and spoke with Stephanie, and after explaining what had happened she was king enough to walk to the parking lot while I pinged it. The thief had dumped my iPad in the dumpster, thankfully not too deep. I just wanted to say that Stephanie was amazing for being such a good person and helping someone with no expectation of receiving anything in return. Next time my family and I are in the Akron/waterloo area I will make sure I patronize The Basement if only to help repay a bit of the kindness shown! This is how a neighborhood restaurant does it!“

“Y'know, the older I get,the more of a pizza snob I'm becoming. A really good sausage pizza was becoming ridiculously hard to find. Until.today. I can remember my older bro and his wife ordering from Regina's when I was a kid 50 years ago. There's a reason they're a legend. This pizza was outstanding. Wonderful, soft crust, great amount of sauce and sausage that was cooked to perfection. Jojos had a peculiar smoke taste, like baked potatoes cooked over a campfire. Fantastic food. “I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who’s looking for a good authentic Thai food in town. I have tried some of the dishes and they’re amazing. Although I got to say my favorite so far were their Thai Boat Noodle and Mango Salad. The atmosphere is chill and the service were really great too. Very friendly place 😄“

“Anything I've ever tried off the menu here has been delicious. They have specials for each day and I recommend trying the special of the day. Also they make great drinks ! I recommend the Jamaican Mule, I get it every time, it's delicious. Food wise you can't go wrong. The owner throws down in the kitchen, especially with the seafood and burgers. Talk about good seasoning, everything's seasoned delightfully. My favorites so far are the Shrimp Quesadillas (Tuesday is quesadilla day) , their Summit Lake fries and every Friday is fish Friday with a great deal on yellow tailed perch fried to perfection. This place is tastier than any sit down restaurant in the area trust me. 10/10“

“I was in The Sub Station today during a very difficult interaction with a customer. The staff handled themselves with as much patience and composure as possible under extreme provocation. After the situation resolved, I was treated kindly, and the team made sure I had a great experience. I got a meatball sub, and now I am stuffed to the rafters! Always choose kindness. “My first experience was like going into someone's home and being greeted and served by the parents. If I was entertaining a visitor to Akron, I'd want to take them here because they would leave Akron feeling like it was a hospitable place. We ordered, and got our meals within 10 minutes, hot and delicious. And here's a pic of the painting on the wall by our table.“

“I was there for a Surprise birthday dinner. The wait staff was phenomenal.
Our waitress Trinity not only remembered us from a previous visit but remembered our orders just the way we liked them.

The kitchen staff had a difficult time preparing orders for our party. Some of our guest never received their meals while at least three others were served as others finished dining.

“Came here on Saturday with my young grandson and ate inside. Was so very impressed with the A-1 customer service skills that Nasir displayed, not only to me but to everyone he came in contact with. Keep up the good work young man we need more people like you.“

“We loved the pork shank with lobster mac n cheese!! It was super delicious and so tender!The lobster ravioli was just okay. The taste was okay and the serving was not huge enough to justify its price. The new England clam chowder was delicious too! The calamari is just average. The restaurant building and the road outside were under construction, so we were confused where the restaurant entrance door was when we arrived. We didn't have any reservations, but we were seated right away. There were only two staff members serving everyone. Not sure if that's a regular thing. Waiting time for orders to be served was a little long but worth the wait. The women bathroom was a little dirty and tissues are all used up, no other tissues were there to use. Overall, we were happy with the food. We even got the CLAMS AN OLD SAILORS Way order to take home with us. Will probably be back just for the food, and maybe just do a takeout instead of dining in.“

“Pizza and beer. Beer and pizza. Need I say more?

But I will. They offer quite a bit of Italian fare. There are no servers, and you need to go to the food counter and order. They will bring your food to your table. We ordered three different styles pizzas. Butter crust, a deep dish, and a thin crust. All came out of the kitchen in no time and were hot to order. I did like the sauce. There are quite a few pizza choices plus sandwiches, pastas, salads, and appetizers. Our food this night was pretty good.

Now the beer. You get a wristband and tap the beer tap before pouring. It will keep track of the size of the pour and charge you accordingly. I didn't count, but there are probably around 25 choices of brew on tap. I had a few of the taps sputter, so I did not get a full pour, but that was OK. It meant I could sample more styles.

The indoor seating is nice. Most are high tops. They also have a large outdoor patio area with a fire pit if you choose. The staff are friendly and continued to check on us, removing plates, getting us take home boxes, answering questions, and overall, they were attentive to our needs.“

But I went today and the cashier seemed to be irritated as I was figuring out my order ,rolled her eyes and seemed like we were taking up her precious time. I will continue to come,but hope I don't have her as my cashier again. Very disrespectful.“

“I dont think its anything about the place specific, people just dont like going to work anymore and aren't as cheerful as they used to be when they see they have a table. I love the bread sticks, and all the cheese on the salad and pasta though so it makes up for it for me.“

“The food was delicious and the service was friendly and prompt. I would have given 5 stars, but we didn't get blue cheese sauce for the wings, and my wing order included only drumettes (no wingettes, which are my favorite). I ordered mild buffalo wings and they were tasty. Hubby ordered garlic parmesan and he said they were very good. The side salad was very fresh.

We ordered a small thin crust with pepperoni and green olives, and the cauliflower crust with pepperoni and mushrooms. Both crusts were crispy. Strangely cut into tiny pieces.

Two other comments:
1) the place was empty when we arrived at 6:30 p.m., so we were concerned that the food would be terrible (it was not).
2) the pizza had cornmeal on the bottom, which I don't care for (yes, I know why it's there, but the pizzeria I worked at in NY didn't use it, so it's not completely necessary).“

“They just built this and I’ve been wanting to try it and it did not disappoint. The service was amazing the manager was amazing some of the best service I’ve had the food was hot and super fresh. I would recommend this to anyone and I give them an amazing 5 stars down the board service, food, environment. Thank you for the wonderful experience.“
