“Updated atmosphere! Clean, inviting. Our server, Holly, was top notch! She took great care of us. We ordered from the lunch menu. Cheeseburger and fries and the oriental salad. The cheeseburger and fries were hot and tasty. The oriental salad was HUGE (for a “lunch” portion). It was loaded with crispy chicken on top. The whole experience was very enjoyable! I recommend trying them out for sure.“

“Used to love going to this location and have been since they opened this store. Went in tonight and had the worst customer service EVER!!!! I will not be back to this location ever again. We drove 45 minutes to get here and was lied to not once but 2 times after waiting for a table for 30 minutes. Not going into all the details but i will NOT be back I'll drive over an hour to go somewhere else or another location next time. Our rating will be a negative stars if that was possible“

“This sport bar near campus always has a crazy game day vibe with many large screens. Service is amazing and WiFi is fast. It could be a great work or study area while quiet hours. The bar only serves alcohol and there are many pizzas and wings available at the side pizza bar. Special events are held. The patio is also lovely with seats and artificial grass.“

“As an Army Combat Veteran who recently moved downtown from California, I was looking forward to celebrating Independence Day here. While the red snapper was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked, the initial service was incredibly disappointing. I flagged down a blonde bartender to order a beer, but she never returned to take my food order. Despite the bar being empty, she passed by multiple times, seemingly more focused on asking coworkers how her hair looked than serving me sitting at the bar. She also ignored me while being overly attentive to regulars who arrived later. Thankfully, the head bartender noticed I was waiting and saved the night. I ended up ordering my dinner, dessert and remaining drinks from the other bartenders. I waited for her shift to end before closing out my $80 ticket. I then left the remaining bartenders $30.
It is a shame that great food is overshadowed by a lack of basic attentiveness to new guests.“

“We are from out of town and needed to feed 16 people after our original plan fell through. I called and spoke to Jeremy and he was quick to accommodate. I have to say the service was impeccable and so was the food. Every one of our orders was perfectly prepared and delicious. Our server ( I’m sorry i don’t remember her name, but I’m sure she knows who we are talking about) was amazing and professional and never missed a beat! I would highly recommend this establishment !! Extremely attentive without being overbearing, positive without being fake, quick with refills and checking on us. And props to the cooks and bartenders, my drink was flawless and the food was seriously out of this world, I'm tempted to go back for the cheese curds alone. Zero complaints, can't recommend this place enough.“

“We were in town for a volleyball tournament and stumbled upon Flatiron Tavern on Friday afternoon. After one visit, it quickly became our go-to spot for the entire weekend.

What immediately stood out was the welcoming, neighborhood feel. The front door was wide open on a beautiful summer afternoon, creating the perfect atmosphere to relax after a long day. The staff made us feel like regulars from the moment we walked in. Gunner, Drayven, Katie, Emma, and Brent were all incredibly friendly, personable, and attentive. Their genuine hospitality is what kept bringing us back throughout our three-day stay.

We were traveling with kids, and the staff was very accommodating when our kids sat at a separate table. It’s those little touches that make visitors feel comfortable and appreciated.

The food, drinks, and overall atmosphere were consistently enjoyable, but what really sets Flatiron Tavern apart is the people. Every visit felt relaxed, welcoming, and authentic.

The one exception was a staff member who came on shift during one of our visits and again on Sunday. The energy of the room noticeably changed. She seemed overwhelmed and scattered, and the warm, easygoing vibe that had defined our previous experiences disappeared. On Friday, she immediately closed the front door, cutting off the fresh air and open atmosphere that had made the space so inviting. While everyone has off days and busy shifts, the contrast between her approach and the rest of the staff was significant.

That said, one employee doesn’t define a place. The overwhelmingly positive experiences we had with the rest of the team are the reason we’ll remember Flatiron Tavern so fondly. If we’re back in the area for another tournament, we’ll definitely be returning. It’s the kind of local spot every town hopes to have—a place where good food, good drinks, and genuinely good people make you feel right at home.“

“We were in town for a Buckeyes game. Our AirBnb was about two blocks away so this was so convenient. We loved everything about it. The atmosphere as soon as we walked in, we knew we’d love it. “The hospitality we were shown this weekend was unmatched. It was a cold evening and we were wanting to feed our 6 and 8 year olds before going to a concert. The wait was well over an hour and half for a table. The staff and owner not only gave my children free drinks but they found us a spot out of the way so my children could eat pizza without waiting. “My wife and I came here for Blackbird Burrito which the food is incredible for the price. Fresh as fresh can be and the burrito was fully loaded like Chipotle used to be.

What surprised me is I went to the bar and ordered a Guinness. I then watched in absolute joy that they knew how to pour a proper Guinness. As they say it was an absolute creamer. 9/10 Guinness pour. I only deduct a point because it was in a standard pint glass and not a Guinness glass.“

“Roosters German Village has very limited parking..so be prepared to park on the street..I had potato skins--they were fresh and delicious. Ordered a Margarita...it was so good I gave the bartender a tip, well I gave to my server to give to her because she was busy- I hope she got it, ordered 6 wings with a Asian sauc. I haven't been to any Roosters for over 8 years...I ate one wing, it lacked flavor and it was over cooked. I may not return for the wings but will return to have a margarita and try some of their other items on the menu“

“This place is truly an experience. A dive bar that has had a place in my heart for over 20 years now. From the awful smell to the names on the walls, this place has tons of unforgettable memories with friends and family. Anytime I come back to campus I have to come and get a beverage. I love watching the OSU games here and reliving the good old days. Have no expectations and leave happy. This is a traditional dive bar on a college campus.“
