“Was looking for something different to do for my friend's birthday and was suggested Crumble cookie. I stopped in in the morning and there was a nice lady there there to help me. I explained to her that I had never been in before and she was as polite and patient with me. She explained everything on how I could purchase the cookies, what kind of flavors. She was very thorough and kind. She even was nice enough to put a birthday sticker on the box. My friend was excited and she responded back to me that the cookies were delicious. Next time I stop in I'll have to get some to try for myself.”

“We were a party of six for dinner on a Saturday evening. From greeting by host to the time we left everything was perfect. It had been raining on and off all day and had just recently stopped and host offered to accommodate our outdoor reservation request by setting up the patio for us. Despite being extremely busy, service was wonderful! Food was delicious…hummus appetizer was so good! We thoroughly enjoyed the surf and turf, burger & fries, chicken shawarma and crispy salad entrees. I would love to see the falafel make a comeback. This was our first visit since the new owners took over. They have made a number of changes and rebranded - all very nicely done. We will certainly be back!!”

“I cannot recommend Porchlight enough! I have become a frequent flyer— no seriously— twice a dad visits. I love the convenience of their online ordering in the morning and their great cafe space for lunch. There is no wrong answer when it comes to their variety of flavors for your lattes. Truly a skillfully crafted coffee menu along with flavor-packed food options. My absolute favorite menu item is their harvest Cobb salad. I CAN’T GET ENOUGH! Dried cranberries, grilled chicken, feta (I think), walnuts, topped with the to-die-for maple vinaigrette on a bed of lettuce. Seriously, there is NO reason NOT to go to Porchlight. Cheers!”

“I visited for the first time and I just have to say how good this place is! There were about 20 of us. We never had an issue getting a drink, or anything else we wanted. Cocktails were good and strong, the sushi was tasty, and the entrees were flavorful. There was no skimping on the portions either. I got 3 dinners out of mine. We will be back!”

My husband and I have come twice now, trying the Mochiko Chicken, Chicken Katsu, Honey Butter Chicken, and Hawaiian Style Korean Chicken, and we were taken to Flavortown with every single dish. I literally feel like I’ve been transported to another dimension. Not to mention the woman who runs the window is a literal angel sent from heaven. “I will be honest, I haven’t eaten there yet but just had the greatest experience that restored my faith in humanity just a little bit. I was in the Akron area for training with TNVC and I assume my iPad was stolen. Today it pinged at someone’s house and then it pinged in the parking lot of the Basement a few hours after I locked it and left a message for the would be thief. I called and spoke with Stephanie, and after explaining what had happened she was king enough to walk to the parking lot while I pinged it. The thief had dumped my iPad in the dumpster, thankfully not too deep. I just wanted to say that Stephanie was amazing for being such a good person and helping someone with no expectation of receiving anything in return. Next time my family and I are in the Akron/waterloo area I will make sure I patronize The Basement if only to help repay a bit of the kindness shown! This is how a neighborhood restaurant does it!”

“Troy Grille is SO good! Everything is super fresh and made to order and they are generous with toppings. The staff is super welcoming and friendly. Great place to have a delicious Mediterranean feast. We had a steak gyro sub, chicken shawarma wrap, beef shawarma rice bowl and a burger, stuffed grape leaves and tiramisu. All were SO good. If you are getting for lunch and have to go back to work I would recommend ordering ahead because everything is made to order.”
