“Watched 3 bartenders walk by me before one stopped. It’s not even crowded. Set my empty beer up to get another and waited as I watched them all walk by me again. The bartenders are never behind the bar. I don’t know where the heck they are but it isn’t “doing their job”. Came from Detroit and won’t be back.“

“Quiet little suburb dive bar thats been around for years and definitely shows. Large beverage selection with friendly bartenders and staff. Summertime this place really picks up with its sand volleyball courts and outside bar/patio. Great spot for fundraisers or events due to it large dining space and stage area. Killer Karaoke crowd on the weekends shows off some serious local talent. Stop by and enjoy a cold one.

Vegetarian options: Two words: French Fries

Parking: Plenty of parking especially after 6pm

Kid-friendliness: Kids can play on volleyball court and eat chicken tendies.

“A small group of us were visiting the area to see family and we came in here on a Friday evening for just drinks before having dinner elsewhere. The first person we saw greeted us with a smile, we think it was Mike. They were totally packed and it was only 5PM! But he and the bartender who took care of us let us take the last 2 seats at the bar while two of us stood nearby. They have lots of great cocktails and beer to choose from, as well as the typicals beverages. They have an amazingly appetizing menu too! Watching the food come out made us wish we were having dinner there as the food looked and smelled amazing!

Overall, the service was excellent and so were the prices. They treated us like family and were very engaging and friendly. Highly recommend stopping in here!!“

“Characters was one of those places that make you want to take a special trip to go back. I'm from Detroit and I will absolutely return when in the Cleveland area. The food was incredible.

I ordered the wings and a polish taco, being that it was Tuesday. While they were both good, the polish taco was one of the best things I've ever eaten. It had kielbasa, grilled onion, sour cream, sauerkraut, potato filling, on a pierogi bun. The kielbasa was phenomenal. It just seemed to have layers of flavor. The pierogi bun was very interesting too. I'd never tried one but it tasted great as well. It's unfortunate that they only have that polish taco on Tuesdays.

The wings, while not the greatest I've ever tried, had some very unique sauces to offer on the side. I had the suicide sauce and the raspberry BBQ sauce along with ranch and they were quite good. The wings were nice and crispy as well

The atmosphere is a typical bar setting; bar on the left and seating on the right, that's pretty spacious. There is also a patio outside to chill and hang out at.

The waitress was very friendly as well.

“Our meal was great! Kid-friendly. Great service! Comfortable local restaurant that was moderately busy, but not packed and we didn’t have to wait to be seated. Trivia night. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Rice bowl with chicken, boneless wings, burger, and turkey Rachel sandwich. Ryan brought out our apps and kept checking on us. We wouldn’t hesitate to return when we’re in the area!“

Today, I had my husband pick me up their classic burger with provolone cheese and it was still just as super warm when he brought it to me at work as if I were to have eaten it there! “After reading a lot of recent bad reviews I was hesitant to go but my partner and I decided to try it anyways. We got the perogies as an appetizer and they were so delicious! Then I got the chicken paprikash and my partner had the cheese steak sandwich. We both loved our meals! The atmosphere was bar scene but laid back. I know some people had made complaints about wait staff, and I can see where they are coming from. This isn’t Chick-fil-A. These are people and I don’t need them to smile or make small talk to have a good dinner. Keep up the great work! We both said we would come back again🙂“

“We love Spotted Dog food. Always had great service. Tonight the ball was dropped. Took 20 mins to be acknowledge to get a drink(maybe 8 at the bar). Never mind the big sigh and eye roll as we sat down AND still wasn't told Hi. 1 hour for food. okay Its a Friday night we understand. Our fries were soggy a cold. chicken tenders cold. wings cold. It def was sitting up there waiting a while to be brought out. We said something she said it was our fault for going outside for 5 mins. We know the difference between food sitting for awhile before being served. Extremely disappointed. We will be back but maybe when someone else is working.“

“Visited Gen's 176 for the first time this evening. It may not look like much from the outside but the place is clean and the food is really good. They have a nice size menu with a variety of choices. The pierogi are large and filled with potato and cheese (they also have other varieties). My companion had a mushroom burger. It was a 1/2 pound with lots of toppings and the tots that came with were hot and tasty. I had a veggie quesadilla full of cheese, mushrooms, onions and tomatoes (I passed on the black olives). Service was excellent! In all, it was a great, affordable meal. We will be back!“

“Every time we go to the B and G we feel like family. The food is unbelievable, atmosphere relaxed, and drinks affordable. We love the B and G so much we came here after our wedding, for the after party and always try to take friends from out of town.
