“Pizza Boy makes the Absolute Best pizza I have ever tasted! And I love pizza. The crust has amazing flavor and the perfect balance of crispness to chewy. I have never tasted a better pizza, seriously. I love the fresh basil on it as well. And trust, it's not burnt, it's just cooked perfectly!

Parking: Parking is available on both sides of the building, right up to the building.

“Game night, so We had to give their garlic stuffed crust a try.5 STARS! WTG! Fantastic!! Don't change a thing.There was plenty enough cheese in the crust & on top, & the flavor was excellent!But, I always have to take a pizza home & doctor it up. We throw some pieces into the toaster oven & cook it till the top & bottom gets extra toasty & crunchy brown! Then I added a layer of our home made HOT tomato peppers on top.BTW,,, The sale introduction price made this pizza worth it. I would never buy one at full price.“

“From Florida to Ohio, this is the best Italian Restaurant hands down! Authentic and reminds me of my mother’s sauce. Always have to argue with myself over whether to have braciola or cavatelli. Usually the braciola wins out and it’s fantastic. Plus very few restaurants even make it. You can’t go wrong and will not be disappointed. if you’re craving good Italian food this is the place to go!“

“Always a family favorite. This is our go to pizza place. I will say though, they have gotten stingy with the cheese lately. Still my favorite though. The only thing I don't recommend (at least at the Poland shop) is the wings. Pretty dry.

“Love Westgate pizza for party time…the Quad is always a pick for us. I love having different options when serving up plenty of guests. The veggie pizza & plain cheese pizza are 2 of my favs. Their sauce is delicious. Sometimes we order extra sauce to make it even more delicious. This is a thinner crust pizza so it will disappear rather quickly as it’s not heavy but again perfect when serving other food items.

Vegetarian options: Definitely try the veggie listed pizzas…they are delicious

(Both couples were in town from different neighboring states.) The Avalon Downtown came recommended on this site and by locals we spoke with. Both of our pizzas were tasty; lots of spinach on one, the other prepared half and half as requested. The signature chewy crust was darn good! While we felt pretty safe because we were able to sit at a table up front, behind us, every table was occupied and full, as was the bar seating, with nary a mask in sight. That said, coming in from a neighboring state, I never was able to determine the current Ohio state guidelines for capacity in restaurants and bars. If we find ourselves back in Youngstown, we wouldn't hesitate to go back to the Avalon Downtown! The pizza is terrific!!“

We got the chicken bacon ranch pizza, brick pizza, cheese bread, and cinnamon dough bites! The dough bites reminded me of elephant ears and the breading was so light and fluffy. “Pleasantly surprised for rest-stop pizza that also has Vegan and GF options. I am not GF, so I got the regular crust and can't speak for it. There's a lot of hate on here from people who think they're going to get some gourmet food in a service plaza or are disappointed it's not floating in grease like Sbarro. I actually got a big one to take home because I don't live far and this is an easy option for takeout if I'm driving this way. Also, the pizza crust is pre-cooked so it takes like 5 min in the over to heat the cheese and toppings- I actually really enjoyed the crust (I prefer a thick pan crust- so you thin crusters or those who like that floppy/sloppy NY pizza would probably not like this). It's one price per size- unlimited toppings, so if you just get cheese- yeah there's little value for the money. $29 for a large pizza with vegan cheese (usually an upcharge everywhere) and 5 toppings is pretty standard. It fed me 3x.“

“Usually friendly service, I'm not sure if the waitress was having an off day but I sat for 15 minutes before I was even asked if I was waiting on anyone or wanted a drink. I ordered an appetizer and it took 20 minutes. 3 couples who came in after me have already been served. I told her I wanted to order and she disappeared. I asked on the status of my appetizer when she reappeared and she said that takes 10 minutes. I said okay, it was at least 15 minutes ago. So far I've been here at least 35 minutes and have just ordered my pizza at 2:08pm. My pizza didn't arrive until 2:32 . The food is good but the service certainly doesn't match. I think in the future we will frequent another location.“
