Kogen's

Great service, decent rolls, well priced. I stopped for lunch and had the 3 roll special. Not bad, but they were just basic rolls. I'd skip the shumai...not even close to the yummy dim sum kind, they were pretty mushy, I'm sure previously frozen. Miso soup was fine, a little watery. Overall a good value for better-than-grocery store sushi and very friendly service.

Kogen's is one of the several sushi places in Powell. It looks pretty nice inside. Though it still has a casual atmosphere about it. It's family friendly. They have other menu items if you aren't getting sushi. It has pretty much the expected sushi menu. It's not a very exotic menu but they have a good variety of flavors. An expansive menu provides plenty of options for the adventurous eater. Korean, Japanese and Chinese option galore allows you to switch things up each visit. This trip was a sushi visit and we took full advantage of the Wednesday BOGO special; spider roll, TNT, #270 and shrimp tempura roll.
