Based on the reviews, Mayfly Tavern is an awesome bar and grill that is very clean and recently remodeled. It has good views of Cullen Park and a friendly staff. The food is homemade, including items like the Perch and shrimp basket, French onion soup, pickle chips, a hot Italian sub, and a smash burger with hand cut fries. The tartar sauce, cocktail sauce, and slaw are made in house. There is a game room and TVs to watch sports. The atmosphere is comfortable, inviting, and has a good natural chemistry with friendly people. The bar tenders are amazing, great about communicating, and super nice. The service is great, and there is a nice weekly special rotation.
