“We’ve ordered the fish tacos numerous times on site before. This time we order takeout. Some fish tacos had one piece of fish while others had two as usual. The O ring used to be the best in town. Nolonger. All batter, no onion. The sweet potato fries were soft, no flavor. Very disappointing after spending nearly $40 for two containers of greasy food. The food has taken a dive since the move from Tremont center. Should have known, Saturday evening only 4 people in the place. Used to love this place.“

“There’s a reason the Press Grill has been around forever - good, reasonably priced food on a menu that has barely changed in decades. That’s a good thing - the sandwiches, Mac and cheese, cottage fries, etc. need no improvement. There are daily specials if you’re looking for something different, but most regulars have their thing. Accessibility is an issue at this original location - it’s an old building, so the door is narrow and the tables close together and all high top except a single low top in the back. The Grandview location is easier for large groups or those with mobility challenges, but if those are not barriers for you, you can’t go wrong with the original.“

“Love this place, but really? Kitchen closes at 9pm during Ohio State and Notre Dame Championship game that started at 730. It’s 9pm, the house is packed, not an empty seat, not even halftime and the kitchen is closed. And they call themselves the number one place to watch the Buckeyes…kitchen would be opened if I ran this place.“

“We are from Texas and had to visit Columbus for my husbands job. We came here for dinner this past Thursday evening and the service was amazing. I had a very cranky baby and several of the waitstaff offered to get her a variety of different things to make her happy. I really appreciated that. I ordered the fried pickles and the fish and shrimp. The pickles were SPEARS which made me very happy as I love me some fried pickles but I can’t get spears anywhere around here. The fish and shrimp were hot and fresh and so crispy. Beer was ice cold and I left fat and happy! Thanks again for being so kind and understanding with my baby girl!“

“Just had their newest addition to the high quality menu. The generous portion could easily be a shareable for two or a great lunch tomorrow. Extremely tasty with the right balance of crumbles and b’fflo sauce. Great w/seasoned fries or house chips. Make sure to have a pint of the Kroenburg 1664 pints to wash it down. Oh and BTW, it’s a great deal. Won’t disappoint your palllet or your wallet! Enjoy.“

“We are from out of town and needed to feed 16 people after our original plan fell through. I called and spoke to Jeremy and he was quick to accommodate. I have to say the service was impeccable and so was the food. Every one of our orders was perfectly prepared and delicious. Our server ( I’m sorry i don’t remember her name, but I’m sure she knows who we are talking about) was amazing and professional and never missed a beat! I would highly recommend this establishment !! This is extremely annoying and frankly I'm absolutely sick and tired of basic things like this getting missed on orders. The meal is literally ruined over something so minor...do better.

Edit. While I'm keeping the above message intact, the original "service" 1 star review really was an angry culmination of repeated order delivery errors from a multitude of resturants, not just Barelys. In fact, we still ate our meal the next day (with newly acquired sauces) and I have to admit the food was awesome. Additionally, we received a very friendly and prompt response from Jason the GM who graciously accepted the feedback and pledged to spread my frustration, so it's only right to update the service to 5. Mistakes happen, and yes I was angry, but their immediate and professional response deserves a rescore. We will be giving Barleys another go and I'm confident my future review with be 5 stars across the board, from the start.“

“Walking around the convention center area on a Wednesday 9:30pm (no NHL game night) and, while a couple of places already had chairs piled up on tables, the Char Bar bar area was packed and high energy. I had in mind the place caught up on fire, thus the name, but it actually had a drunk driver just crashing into the bar and damaging everything. Now became a story to tell (nobody hurt) and a picturesque place in town.“

“They revamped and opened back up with a good menu and great food! great atmosphere, good people and service. New games and activities, arcade. I had a cheeseburger and fries, it was very good and worth every penny. definitely stop by for a drink or delicious food, friendly folks etc. It's becoming a favorite spot for us and a lot of work went into the kitchen and upgrades etc so dont be afraid to stop in. I dont work there, not family etc just leaving an honest review on the owner, the employees, food and atmosphere. 10 outta 10!“
