“Had the blended orange Creamsicle, strawberry cheesecake latte & iced Chai with lavender cold foam (yes, we're basic). These were all absolutely fantastic & full of flavor. Unlike other coffee shops, everything here tasted exactly like it is listed. If you order a brownie flavor drink, be prepared to get exactly that. Sounds simple, but some places can't nail it like the lucky penny does.“

“A delight for all your senses! I was looking for a bakery that could satisfy that need for a mid afternoon pick-me-up and wow, have I found it. I’m partial to the cakes, but you can expect a lovely variety of treats each time you walk in. I can’t wait to see what they bake next! First visit getting a drink, and I’m happy to report the chai is refreshing. The shop itself is charming, staff is friendly, it’s just a downright nice place.“

“Food is phenomenal! The French toast and hash browns are to die for! You'll always see the owner walking around checking in on all her guests. Lot of times sitting and talking with them. One can tell she really likes to get to know everyone. She is very kind and attentive. Even the chef has come out and hand delivered food making sure everything is cooked to perfection. Coffee cups are always being refilled with fresh hot coffee. Restaurant is super clean, even the bathrooms were spotless. Very charming little restaurant nestled behind railroad tracks. Everything beautifully decorated with trains and wood benches and seats. Plenty of parking! I highly recommend this little gem. You won't be disappointed!!!!“

“To the person who wrote below that the owner is a horrible person, you do not know my mother. You do not know the amount of work she has put into her shops over the years. You do not know her personally, and how much she cares about each and every one of her customers. The audacity you would have to make such a false claim, is astounding and childish. You are a grown human being who is choosing to hide behind a screen and say awful things about others in order to make yourself feel better. Slow train and The Local are both amazing shops that brings together people from all walks of life, and makes everyone feel good after entering and being in the atmosphere of the shops.
