Bourbon St. Cafe is a hidden gem in Bricktown, located underneath a Mexican restaurant. With a warm host and quick seating, the atmosphere inside and outside is wonderful, especially by the canal. The food is incredible, offering unique tastes even in common dishes like artichoke dip, sautéed mushrooms, and mac & cheese. While the server was nice, there might be a wait for paying and boxing leftovers. Parking in the downtown area can be found in various places.
Guests can enjoy a great lunch experience at Bourbon St. Cafe, where they were warmly welcomed by the bartender Sarah. They had a delicious cup of Chicken Gumbo followed by Caesar Shrimp and Chicken Salads, and finished off with a very good Key Lime pie. The experience was enhanced by the friendly service and even a chat with the Chef.
For a Louisiana-inspired cuisine experience, Bourbon St. Cafe offers a fancy atmosphere with live jazz music and good service. While the food is well-cooked, the lack of seasoning might disappoint those seeking authentic Cajun flavors. The Tabasco glazed pork chop stands out, but side dishes like "dirty rice" lack flavor. The boudin balls, although technically well-cooked, are criticized for being bland and smothered in an unusual tomato sauce. Despite the flavorful letdown, the service and atmosphere are praised.
Parking near Bourbon St. Cafe in Bricktown includes options like parking meters, paid lots, and occasional free lots. The restaurant offers a mix of incredible food, unique tastes, and a wonderful atmosphere, although some dishes may lack the authentic Cajun flavors expected by those familiar with the cuisine. The service is friendly, and the live jazz music adds to the overall experience.
