“Stopped while on a business trip through both Oklahoma and Okmulgee. A local bank suggested them as a lunch option, and the burgers were excellent! Extremely helpful servers — in fact, everyone working there was enthusiastic and very friendly! It’s a shame I won’t be back this way for probably years, but wanted to recognize this venue and team for a job very well done!“
“I've eaten Vans pig stand dozens and dozens of times. Generally their bbq is spot on. However the past 2 times I've been there. (Norman and Shawnee south locations) the chicken has been dry and over cooked. The sliced brisket was delicious as always. Since I usually smoke my own bbq I understand chicken breast can be tough to keep "fresh" without drying out so this won't stop me from coming back when I don't have time to cook my own.“
“I’m new to the area and I wanted a good barbecued rib… I found it here. My kids and I dined in and had a wonderful waitress. I ordered the fried fish, bbq ribs, macaroni and cheese, and it did not disappoint. We’ve already been back a second time (ordered to go) and plan to go back again.“

I understand this place is a Shawnee Classic, but truthfully the food doesn’t prove to be good enough to be renowned.The atmosphere is cool (feels 90s/80s) and you can tell there is a strong sense of community within the store. I enjoy that.I got the sliced brisket sandwhich, which was very fatty and gross. My girlfriend, who got the pulled pork, had a great sandwhich. I would definitely recommend the Pork over a sliced brisket. I wish I had tried the ribs instead. We got a side of fries and those were good and crispy. For what you get, the prices are fair. The regular sandwhich is around $6-$7, which is fair for BBQ food.“
“Hey yall...listen to me. The Famer's Daughter Market has a 4.6 rating with 686 reviews, including this review, for a reason. My wife had been here once before and brought me out today. While standing in line to order, a very nice lady took us to our table and sat down with us to take our order. I thought to myself, "what a chill place this is that the server would sit and visit with us to take our order". After apologizing for having difficulty finding our items on the handheld device I told her how much I appreciated her having such a personable demeanor and found out this lady is the owner! Miss Deann was so helpful and friendly. My wife and I eat a plant-based diet and The The Farmer's Daughter has a plethora of plant-based and vegan menu options and will happily accommodate you. And we just happened to sit at the table next to Mr. Jim Smith, her husband, who knows everything there is to know about the pecan business. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone. The sign out front says "Southern Food"; I'd say comfort food made with love. I will most certainly come again. Well worth the drive out from the City. (Later) the beans and cornbread go well with any meal!“
