Burger Restaurants near Brechin

“On our journey to try every chip truck between Toronto and Haliburton - we finally made it to the famous Brechin landmark - Captain Jack's! Located right next to the big Grocery store and just past the train tracks on Hwy 12 - Captain Jack's is a family tradition stopover for a lot of people going to or from their cottages. We pulled in on a scorching hot day in September hoping to grab a bite and sit in the shade. Unfortunately, there were only a couple of picnic tables set up and no umbrellas at all for shade. There is a big grassy area next to and behind the chip truck and a pretty clean porta-potty nearby as well. We ordered a medium poutine ($8.50), medium onion rings ($8) and a cheeseburger ($9). It took a while for the grumpy ladies who were slaving away over the grill to get our order ready - but was it ever worth the wait! Fantastic tasting poutine, nice and crispy onion rings and a perfectly grilled cheeseburger that was absolutely delightful!! We went across the street and ate our food in the LCBO parking lot in our car in the shade of a big tree - it would've been nicer to have eaten it on the grass at the chip truck but it was just too hot. Really good food - I understand why I have always seen so many people stopping there for a bite! Highly recommended and we will definitely return!“
