If you are passing through Brechin be sure to stop in at Captain Jacks for their fish and chips or burgers and fries. My team and I come by weekly for lunch and we are huge fans of their Banquet burgers. The prices are great and the fries and gravy are to die for ? Ill be sure to stop by soon to try that peameal on a bun!
Ordered the meatball sub special. The meatballs are definitely home made and not overly seasoned. The bun was the freshest bun I've had at any chip truck. And the fries were perfect. I'm seeing reviews all over the map on this one but I had a good experience with real food. and genuine farmer friendliness. They will be closing for the season after Thanksgiving. On our journey to try every chip truck between Toronto and Haliburton - we finally made it to the famous Brechin landmark - Captain Jack's! Located right next to the big Grocery store and just past the train tracks on Hwy 12 - Captain Jack's is a family tradition stopover for a lot of people going to or from their cottages.
