“We came up from Toronto for a cottage trip and had pizza for dinner from here. We tried the deluxe, cheese and pepperoni pizzas. Hands down one of the best pizza we’ve all had. Amazing customer service everyone was very friendly. 5/5 would definitely recommend this gem.”

“I went to the ice house restaraunt today, it's an old house in a small town that offers 4 kinds of fish and chips, my partner and I went in not expecting much. But instead we were greated promptly, and welcomed by the smell of cinnamon and Christmas music. Our server, elizabeth, brought waters to the table and told us the nightly special, which included homemade soup! Great atmosphere, with pieces from local artists and charming fire place. We ordered a burger and a the nightly special of 1/4 chicken. Wow! Compliments to whoever cooked that, it was homemade and delicious. I will add that the place was also busy with what looked like a Christmas party at the time, and I only saw one server on shift. Very impressed with the service and attention to detail. The smells, the lights, the music, the kitchen staff laughing from the back, it felt like the it spot in this small town. Highly recommend!”

“What a great café! They have milk alternatives and the varista worked with me to get my take-out latté just so. I grabbed 3 of their gluten free options, some of their British treats, and a brownie that looked irresistible. Their pricing is very fair, which is what allowed me to go a little crazy with my purchases. “I was at an event catered by the Angle Iron Kitchen and everything that was served was excellent! So when I drove through Lakefield today, I made sure to stop in for some more delicious food. I grabbed a pulled pork sandwich and it did not disappoint. The flavour of the meat and sauce was excellent. If you are passing through and need a quick bite, definitely pop in.”

“We have been enjoying the gourmet food of Old Bridge Inn for years. The building and setting is spectacular. We have enjoyed meals inside and on the patio. We are local but friends of ours liked staying there on visits. More recently we have been bringing home meals from Inn Cuisine in Lakefield. We just had a large group reception outside using tents on the grounds. The food served was perfect in quality and presentation. A good time was had by all despite a little rain. Highly recommended.”

“We visited one evening for drinks and the following morning for breakfast. Our evening server, Sarah, was full of information and happy to be challenged to make a cocktail that was new to her. Our breakfasts were great too and the stand out was the bacon which was more thickly sliced that retail bacon and certainly more tasty.”

“The Lakefield Subway is usually my first option for a to go lunch, during work. The sub masters behind the counter are always really kind and I’ve seen them take a lot from customers. I get the same sub every time and it’s always delicious. The cookies are soft and my favourite part of my meal, besides the friendly workers. Love this Subway.Kid-friendliness: The atmosphere is a good spot to take children. Lots of seating and I think they have booster seats (could be wrong, I’ll check next time I go). Lots of extra napkins available and the washroom is accommodating.”

“Beautiful family run place that has been in Lakefield for 25+ years. The locals love it and definitely do not care if the cottagers don’t. I would t recommend ordering from here if your friends and family consider you to be “uppity”. Sandra is a SAINT.”
