Very disappointing. Made the drive out from Waubamik. The caesar salad lacked enough dressing - no flavour. The panfried pickerel was very good but the rice tasted like it had been refried to heat up and serve. The coleslaw would have been excellent but was starting to sour. Not a freshly cooked meal. And the small glass of water was not refilled once. Lack of service - unless it’s reserved for their regulars? 😢
We dinned on the dog friendly patio where not only did we have great service and food, but our dog also was created with a drink of Georgian bay tap water and her own meal consisting of carrots, beef patty and smoked fish skin. Over all this was friendly, clean environment with great food portions of fresh food as-well as service with lots of smiles!

Gilly's Snug Harbour Restaurant & Marine has made significant improvements, especially in outdoor dining options. Customers often mention the cozy atmosphere and friendly staff, highlighting the excellent service. Reservations are usually unnecessary, making it a convenient choice after a day of activities. The pan-fried lake trout with Caesar salad and fries is a standout dish, perfectly cooked and not greasy. The beer-battered pickerel and fries are also well-received, with many customers praising it as the best they’ve ever had. Recent reviews also mention fresh oysters, pickerel fish and chips, and pan-fried perch, noting that while the pickerel was cooked perfectly, some found the fries underwhelming. Many enjoy the beautiful location, which is worth the drive, and the restaurant even welcomes pets. There are minor complaints about wine pricing and some portion sizes, but overall, Gilly's consistently delivers delicious food and amazing service, making it a great find for visitors. The dessert, a deconstructed apple pie, has also received positive remarks, and there is a coffee shop downstairs for those wanting to grab a drink for the road.
