The experience was worth mentioning as the Desi Bar & Grill's Interior was quite impressive, with the relaxed feeling of an entertaining restaurant with the food, bar service, and server courtesy. It deserves a stars (*****) rating except for one suggestion. It is nice to hear the ever-green Indian Songs except for the loudness associated with the noise this created necessitating keeping it low will be dignified and relaxing for distinguished visitors to engage in audible mutual conversation rather than put restraint and blockage by loud music. Running of soft Indian 'Gazals' will add to the environment apart from Punjabi/Hindi songs.“

“Appasamy's Biryanis are our family's go to in all of Ontario! Not only is the Paneer Tikka Biryani and the Gongura Mutton Biryani so delicious, but the service is so super kind and thoughtful! The last time we picked up dinner, we forgot to take our plain basmati rice - and today when we showed to make our order, the owner remembered that we didn't take it! I always need a plain rice to help me with the spice level (note - I don't manage mild spiciness well) and he gave us the one that we forgot the last time! So super thoughtful! The Biryanis are full of flavour and so very delicious! Their presentation, even when we take it to go, is beautiful👍😃“

Then, by sheer luck, we stumbled upon Bombay Grill on Hwy 7 in Markham. Since that discovery, our search for the best Indian cuisine came to a delightful end.

Every dish we’ve savored at Bombay Grill has been authentically delicious, consistently outshining all other Indian restaurants we've tried. For the past two years, it has been our go-to spot for Indian cuisine.

The service is impeccable, thanks to Dita or AJ, who are part of the family that owns this charming establishment. Their warmth and hospitality make every visit special. The prices are very reasonable, adding to the overall appeal.

The interior of Bombay Grill is simple and unassuming, reminiscent of a cozy neighborhood eatery. While the dining area might not attract many patrons to sit and dine, there is a constant stream of customers picking up large takeout orders. This steady flow of takeout traffic suggests that people love the food and the prices, even if they might prefer enjoying it at home rather than within the restaurant’s modest ambiance.

For $34ish we ordered two kathi rolls, one chilli chicken which was quite yummy and one chicken tikka which was off-tasting. It didn't feel like a real tikka, maybe its just tikka seasoning they use. Tikka one also had a weird aftertaste so do not recommend. Fries were AMAZING, both rolls came with masala fries. Rolls on instagram look much bigger than in reality. Wait time was 25 minutes and the store was not busy.
The place is shared with Holy Shakes and also carries The Cheesecake Factory cakes. Milkshakes were tempting so will come back to try those.“

“You will be hard pressed to find a better value than their daily combo menu. For $10 you get a beverage, soup, spring roll and main. This menu is available everyday open to close. This is not my favourite Hakka restaurant, but it is certainly the best value.

The portions are big and we typically end up asking for takeout containers.

We usually get the beef ho fun, chili beef, manchurian chicken, mango chicken, and sesame chicken. We have tried the Thai curries and pad Thai and was not impressed. Also the spice level is usually on the mild side, but we have had some inconsistent experiences. For reference my tolerance for heat is quite high, but others I have dined there with enjoyed their meals despite low tolerance for spice. If you are sensitive avoid items with chili in the name. There are plenty of mild choices.

If you want courteous service and comfortable surroundings, get take out, don't ask for substitutions and eat at home.

If you want a quick, delicious meal at a great price, this place is for you.

Chicken biryani and veal biryani are flavourful and always fresh. Chicken comes with a thigh and leg. For the price, it could use more chicken. The raita is good too and has a subtle spice.

The rolls are the main event. Chicken and beef rolls are always great. Wasn't a fan of the chicken bahari. The chicken tikka roll was a little dry for my liking. Rolls are doused with a lot of onions and a mayo type sauce - I always ask for less or 50%. You have to ask for spice, it's not automatically added. It is spicy so be ware of how much you ask for.

The chicken tikka from the BBQ menu (not the roll) is perfectly cooked with the right amount of char, ensuring the meat is tender with crispy skin edges, and spice.

Parathas are always fresh too and reheat well the next day.

The food is more on the pricier side for portions/quantity of meat.

I don't know which of their customers requested for cheese, hot peppers and whatever else to be added to their menu, but without trying it I can tell you that it will ruin/compromise flavor in the rolls. Leave that for your burritos and hot dogs. Don't be a fool and go for the extra toppings, just stick to the original.“

The service has definitely improved over the last year. We tend to always get a veg thali due to the options for sides. “I'm in Oshawa but any time theres a party, doesnt matter where, Ill make sure I pick up a tray of their pasta or get someone else to pick it up (if Im hosting). Have been doing this for the past 3 years at least. There pasta is phenomenol. Not the ketchup pasta (sweet and mild) that you get from all restaurants (be it italian or not; its like all they do is open that can of tomato sauce and plop it on their pasta). Applespice's pasta has real flavor and a wonderful kick depending on the spice level you ask for. Always tell them how many people you're serving, their recommendations never go wrong. I can spend $50 here and serve about 8-10 people so portion sizes are really good for the price as well.“
