“We can appreciate new staff needing time to adjust, it would have been more enjoyable had there been experienced wait staff to assist. Long waits for simple things (like a cup of water or a coffee refill) and since we were not asked how everything was shortly after receiving our order, which was delicious, we did not have the opportunity to request the extra cutlery we required. All things considered, it was still a pleasant and delicious meal, and the staff were very polite.Wheelchair accessibility: This restaurant has a zero step entrance and enough space between booths to maneuver comfortably. There are accessible washrooms as well, although the door in the woman's washroom needs repair.“

“We stopped in on a Thursday afternoon to grab a quick bite and a brew. It was just after two and the bartender said the kitchen closed at 2. The owner heard it and came right out. Said he was going to be there for another 20 minutes, what did we want. We ordered some wings to hold us over. Wings came out perfectly crispy with the sauce on the side. Wife loved that, she likes light sauce I like heavy sauce, worked out perfect. After we ate, the locals and the owner started to engage the “newbies”. Had multiple conversations with various people. Played a few games of pool and won a couple and didn’t get beat up after, which is a plus in a locals bar.All in all a great time.“

Fried Perch Dinner

“TLDR: They shouldn't call themselves a steakhouse if they can't cook a steak. Overall, it is decent place that we would return to, but with lower expectations. The steak was overcooked and under-seasoned. The fresh bread and chicken Marsala were both excellent. Service was perfectly fine. My husband and I chose this restaurant for our anniversary and were quite excited to try it. Sadly, 37 West Steakhouse didn't live up to our excitement. When we arrived, we were politely greeted and seated in a timely manner. They didn't have any menus left (one waitress said to another "I'm all out of menus" even though the facility was almost empty). After we were seated, a waitress attempted to take our drink order, but we still hasn't been given any menus. She found us menus and we ordered drinks. On their drink menu they list Jack (or rum, I can't remember) and COKE. We ordered this but when we received it, it was in a tall drink/beer glass, filled with soda, but it didn't taste like a rum and coke. When we asked if they had misheard us and gave us a Diet Coke we were informed that it was actually Pepsi, not Coke as advertised (this is actually against the law). It also DID have a rum in it, but with so much soda it was impossible to tell. We decided to do the "Steamers" appetizer (steamed clams in a white wine sauce), and after placing the order the waitress returned to let us know they no longer carried that menu item. We ordered the Weekly Specials appetizer instead; "Cordon Bleu Bites" which tasted fine but we're more along the lines of cheap bar food. For dinner, my husband ordered one of the weekly specials, Creamy Parmesan Shrimp Steak and I ordered the Chicken Marsala off of their regular menu. While we waited we enjoyed the fresh loaf of bread and oil and vinegar, which were very good. Our food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. As soon as my husband went to cut into his steak, it was immediately obvious that it was overcooked. My husband had ordered Medium Rare and the steak was a little over Medium Well, but not quite Well. The steak was under-seasoned, overcooked, and the texture rather unappetizing as it went dry while chewing. The shrimp were cooked well and garlic mashed potatoes had good flavor and seemed to be homemade. The green beans were fine, but seem like they came from a steamer bag. However, for calling themselves a Steakhouse, the steak was the very worst part of their menu. The poorly cooked steak really made the $30 entree a waste. We didn't send it back because it wasn't worth the hassle of waiting for a new steak and we had already had two other issues (appetizer and drinks) and didn't want to be bothersome. The Chicken Marsala was absolutely wonderful. The sauce was thick enough to coat the pasta and chicken, but was not at all congealed. The chicken was cooked perfectly and overall the dish was very well seasoned. It came with garlic toast, which wasn't anything special. I opted to use the leftover appetizer bread instead. Our server was perfectly pleasant and attentive. Pros: Wide variety of menu items in many price ranges. Clean facility. Delicious bread with oil and vinegar. Wonderful Chicken Marsala. Cons: Based on other reviews throughout the internet, improperly cooked steak seems to be normal for this "steakhouse". Drinks listed incorrectly (list Coke, but serve Pepsi). Items listed on the regular menu are no longer available.“
