“I was very impressed by the drinks, very very yummy! The cheesecake was also amazing. The decor was fresh and modern and pretty. Not as impressed with the tiramisu, which was an odd kind of foamy/gelatiny something. And they really need to get a handle on the amount of plastic waste - even the plastic forks were wrapped in plastic; each cake slice wrapped in plastic; plastic plastic plastic. At least find something biodegradable, there's things on the market now! I would definitely go again but I'd bring my own mug and fork.“

“Since a friend who works on the same block, recommended this place, it has been my favourite Bubble Tea joint in Ottawa! Been going there since probably they first opened or so. You get the best price for your purchase compared to Chattime, Coco and Real Fruit Smoothies. Not only is the pricing to product match up, but the quality of the real fruit; fresh and plenty. Along with the many varieties of drinks you can have including promotions, you have plenty of toppings that their competitors within the city don't necessarily offer. This particular location though, is my favorite and the staff have come to know me and my daughter.“

She greeted me with a warm smile and was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, answering all my questions without hesitation. She worked quickly and efficiently, making sure I had exactly what I wanted. It’s clear she knows this place inside and out, and her enthusiasm made the experience even better.

As for the bubble tea itself, it was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly made. The balance of sweetness and tea was just right, and the pearls had that perfect chewiness. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients here.

“Such a cute bubble tea store! They have I think 3 locations in Ottawa and this is the Chinatown store. I got to try the Katsu sandwich and popcorn chicken at a different location and the katsu was crispy! Could use more flavour/sauce though. The cream cheese bread was actually so good and huge! (i got the taro flavour) Perfect spot to go to if you want snacks and dessert and to cool down in this summer heat!“

Being a big fan of tropical fruits, I used to buy papaya smoothie, sometimes bubble tea, added different toppings, they were all delicious. “Went today and got 2 of the Halloween special menu drinks (1 for me and 1 for a friend) and they were sooo good and super fun! I actually spilled the drink on the left shortly after taking this photo 😭 but the workers were very nice and understanding. They cleaned it up quickly and didn’t even make me pay for a replacement when I offered. The drinks themselves were delicious - I didn’t get to try the Zombie Brain drink but the Bloody Taro drink was amazing and my friend really enjoyed the other. I’ll definitely have to come back before Halloween to try it again!! Thank you!“

“Coco has always been one of my favourite bubble tea spots in Ottawa. However, the Merivale location always has a strong odour right when you walk into the store. Sometimes it smells like strong cleaning products, other times it smells heavily like an uncleaned washroom. It makes it hard to enjoy my time drinking bubble tea with friends. Hopefully the owners look into it more closely.“
