“Looking for delicious, authentic falafel? Look no further!

I’ve tried so many falafel places in Ottawa that I’ve lost count, and this one is by far the best. Everything tastes incredibly fresh and flavorful. The owners are also super sweet and welcoming. It feels like you’re entering their home, and they treat you like family.

The shawarma was excellent as well and had a delicious homemade taste.

This will definitely be my go-to spot for falafel sandwiches from now on!“

“My absolute FAVOURITE shawarma place. Can't sing its praises enough. Extremely friendly staff, generous portions (no stinginess with the meat!), fresh and delicious food, all very reasonably priced. Family run place, I think there's exactly one employee there who isn't part of the family.

While I usually get a beef shawarma wrap or plate here, I NEED to shout out the falafel - it's by far the best falafel I've had in the city. Not the best I've had period, but for Ottawa it goes hard as hell. Wish I knew about this place for the 13 years I was vegetarian, because it would've been a lifesaver. None of that dry stuff that plagues this city. Pretty sure the mom makes it.

“Just discovered this fantastic little gem in Findlay Creek! We each ordered a donair, and it was the best I've ever tasted. The portions were incredibly generous. They offer a great selection of desserts.
The service was excellent. The staff were genuinely happy to have our business and were very patient while we took our time deciding what to order from their extensive menu. With so many tempting options, it wasn't easy to choose!

“I discovered La Joie Shawarma about two years ago, and ever since, it’s been part of my weekly routine. The food quality is consistently top everything tastes fresh, and you can tell a lot of care goes into each dish.

The garlic sauce and hummus are incredibly flavorful and perfectly made. As for the beef and the chicken shawarma sandwich, all dressed with spicy sauce and sesame, it’s hands down the best shawarma I’ve had in the Ottawa–Gatineau area. Nothing else comes close. I honestly can’t enjoy shawarma from anywhere else now.

The owner and his team are super friendly and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. Just a tip: try to get there early at lunchtime because it gets busy really fast!

“We are a group who booked for the all you can eat buffet to celebrate a friend's birthday. The variety and quality of the dishes was amazing, good value. They even brought a plate of freshly made stuffed vine leaves to the table, still piping hot. (My only quibble: a few of the dishes were just warm/tepid/cool. Not easy to keep everything at the right temperature with a buffet.) There was something for everyone, whether you are a vegetarian or a meat or fish eater. “I have had a chaotic year, and Shawarma Prince has been the absolute life saver to eat healthy. As a type 1 diabetic, the food here is healthy, low carb and really yummy!
