The staff greeted me with genuine smiles, took the time to make sure my order was right, and treated every customer with patience and respect. Even during a busy rush, they stayed calm, polite, and super helpful. You can really see they care about delivering a great experience, not just great food.

“The food was absolutely delicious, and we loved the egg rolls they surprised us with when we got home (thank you 😊). The free egg rolls may have been due to some miscommunication on pick up time when we ordered online, we even waited an additional 15 mins after arriving, but that did not take away from how incredibly flavorful the food was! I'm new to Ottawa and my shawarma standards are high because my hometown has amazing shawarma that no other spots have come close to and I've tried many places already in Ottawa. “I ordered a steak medium. It came medium rare. She offered to put it back on the grill for me but I declined because the steak was already a little tough and I didn't want it to be tougher. My friend had her steak well done and she had trouble chewing but - well done steak - I didn't expect any different. The gravy was way to salty and hard to eat. The server was great, she left us alone and let us talk, filling out drinks when needed. We did have to track her down at the end for the bill but she got very busy and we were there a long time. I would recommend this place just not the steak. We both had cheesecake for dessert and took some home.”

“We received a gift card from a family member for $100 USD as a Christmas Present and were excited about enjoying a meal at this restaurant. The gift card was purchased directly from Joey's, not a 3rd party. We went and everything initially about the restaurant was very enjoyable. The food was very good, the service was attentive and we enjoyed our experience until the cheque arrived. When we we presented the gift card (electronically) our server went to speak with a ⁶manager and then returned to inform us that the $100 USD would be honoured in Canadian dollars. $100 USD is worth $144.50 Canadian dollars according to google when checked today. We paid the bill and tipped the service team 22% and left after effectively having $44.50 taken from us and our family member in what felt like to us, theft by conversion. The manager in question did not come to follow up after our expressing our disappointment JOEY's is already a very expensive restaurant. Further, the gift card information indicates that Joey's has US based restaurants. I'm quite sure that Canadian dollar gift cards are not accepted at par in the US. This ruined for us, what was otherwise a positive experience, through what felt like to us, an act of corporate greed and impersonal profiteering. After this experience we will not be back and sadly, I cannot recommend JOEY's as a place for anyone else to dine at. Any company that sells a gift card directly and then fails to deliver full value is patently dishonest, in my opinion.”

“I have dined here twice at their Bank Street location twice. The first time I visited, it was to enjoy one of their delicious ramens for $10 while helping them celebrate their 3rd anniversary. My second time visiting, I enjoyed their new and delicious Black TanTan Ramen and their black sesame seeds that you can crush and sprinkle into your bowl of ramen. 🍜 Also, don't be discouraged by the colour of this ramen's broth, because of its greyish colour. It tastes much better than it looks. 😋”
