“This is a real pub atmosphere. Pub up front and restaurant further back, with food available in both. We were two couples catching up on news with good appetites. Our server was very friendly and helpful even bringing one of us a beer sample for something he hadn’t tried. We all ordered different local beers to start. This place serves “real” 20 ounce pints! The beer came cold and welcome. For mains I had the mussels from the special menu - a generous portion with a delicious white wine and garlic sauce, accompanied by two large pieces of grilled and buttered French bread. Two had the beef and mushroom pie and upgraded to a side of poutine. Our 4th member had fish and chips - again a generous portion of battered haddock accompanied by fresh cut fries, creamy coleslaw, tartar sauce and lemon wedge. We all really enjoyed our lunch, although people found the meat pie to be very rich. Service was great and we left full and happy.“
