The Town Friar might be one of the top 10 fish-and-chip shacks in Canada. The batter is simultaneously crisp and pillowy, the fish is fresh, and the fries are thick. Is it somewhere you want to sit and enjoy a casual Saturday dinner with friends over a glass of wine, no. Is it an amazing take out place with exceptionally good service? Yes.
Haddock was perfectly cooked and the fries were well done.
Excellent service, great tasting food and reasonable prices. Old Town charm.
