“Cafeteria style "Calenderia" restaurant with filipino pantry items for sale. The homemade ube hopia and mongo hopia was delish!Update:I went in on a Friday around 1130am and my Kare- kare, and Chicken curry was very hot and delicious, crisp green beans and tasty eggplant. Didn't get sick. They also had so much Bangus, spring rolls, & bbq sticks, but didn't try this time. $13.99 for 2 items plus lots of rice or pansit. Go early! Parking is on a diagonal off of Queen.“

“Finally, a fantastic, authentic Filipino dine-in/take out place within the Halton & Hamilton area! We decided to try Mikaela’s in person as my partner orders their empanadas every week from a coworker who regularly orders from here too. Dang, this restaurant did not disappoint! We ordered the Bilao Family Meal—a meal meant to serve 4 to 6 people when in fact, the generous size portion at Mikaela’s would realistically feed 6 people, minimum. Because we wanted to try so much more, we also got the lechon kawali (masarap!) and sisig (my all-time favourite Filipino dish) which they served hot on a sizzling plate with a freshly cracked egg—the only way sisig should be served! The restaurant is so beautifully decorated and gives such a “homey” vibe. And the service? No words; they truly make you feel like family We got buko pandan to go and let me tell you, I savoured every bite. We went with 2 of our good friends who are newer to Filipino food, and they could not stop raving about it. We can’t wait to come back and try their other dishes! Advance apologies to my waistline! ?“

“I was on tour and had cravings for Filipino food. I heard a lot of good things about Rico's and they did not disappoint. I ordered adobong pusit, pinakbet and pancit bihon. They didn't have pinakbet but they offered other options. I chose laing. All my Filipino food cravings satisfied! If ever I'm back in Hamilton, I'll definitely order from Rico's again.“
