The Ship Reviews
Stopped by yesterday for lunch! Shared the fish tacos and duck wings- fantastic! Great beer selection and great staff! Thanks for the delicious grub!
Awesome burgers and catfish
Discovered this place a couple years ago and couldn't wait to come back. My friend and I were in town for the Labour Day Classic and I said that we had to eat at The Ship afterwards. Once again, some of the best burgers I have ever had. My friend agreed. (He also used to run a restaurant). Love the vibes of the place and the staff are always kind and helpful. See you again soon!

The Ship is a classic bar and pub-style restaurant located in the heart of the city. It offers a good selection of local beers, mainly IPAs and a couple of lagers, and features an upstairs seating area along with a cozy outdoor patio. Customers have praised the food, especially the burgers like the Black and Blue Burger and the November Burger, which are thick, juicy, and well-liked. The Catfish Poboy and Pickle brined Chicken fried chicken are also highly praised for their incredible flavor and perfect cooking. Recent visitors enjoyed meals such as crispy catfish with fresh cut fries, describing the fries as delicious and plentiful, while the catfish was noted to be juicy and tender. The outdoor seating looks very nice, with booths available, though it was rainy during one visit. The staff is friendly, kind, and attentive, creating a welcoming atmosphere, though some mention that service can be slow at times. The restaurant has a rustic, antique feel, set in an old Victorian home just off Lower James, with good lighting and unique use of space. The owner is known to engage with customers, adding charm to the place. Overall, The Ship is a great local spot for a casual bite and a refreshing drink, offering quick service, a good variety of local craft beers, and even a free PAC Man arcade game for added fun. Pricing is reasonable, with meals like a good-sized piece of catfish with fries costing around $18, while drinks like the banana split drink and the space boob cocktail are available for those seeking something special.
