“We’ve been visiting the Cedar Rail for over 20 years; whenever we’re heading to/from Southampton. It was super busy when we were there the other day. Still, service with a smile. The footlongs were their usual good quality on fresh buns. The fries were particularly good and piping hot. The Cedar Rail has been in operation for 60 years but under new management for the past few. They’re doing a great job. Washroom was clean, btw. It’s like stepping back in time when we visit…in a good way!“

“Stopped in for lunch - Abby was so energetic and was super attentive. We had the fish and chips. Huge pieces of Fish and perfectly crispy batter! Not even slightly greasy. Enjoyed the Apple pie and would have had some cheesecake but sadly they were out ( cause it’s supposed to be that good).

“We got this Homegrown Apple Pie for my birthday, paired with fresh whipped cream and cheddar cheese. The crust was buttery, and very flaky. The filling was seasoned very well. I really liked the use of diced apple instead of apple slices. I definitely recommend it.“

“Stopped in to see how it is with the new owners. Was greeted by a friendly staff. The burgers served are delicious and sourced from The Harriston Meat Packing Company (another local gem). Good variety of ice cream flavours as well. Happy to support the new and improved Clifford Snack Shack and wish them all the best going foreword.“

“A&W in Mt Forest is always a pleasant pit stop for a quick fill up. The staff here are pleasant and quick in taking your order. We usually have the breakfast combo including the egg sandwich, hash brown and coffee. It’s prepared with care and presentable.

The restaurant interior is clean and has the retro diner vibe. Often times there are seniors hanging out here during the day in groups for chats. The food is served in a metal tray and I always find it neat that they use the mini fry basket to present the hash brown. No complaints!

Skip it or hit it? It’s usually a fast half hour stop here for us to grab a good bite.“
